💯High energy and hopeful message. "We're just getting started," @POTUS@JoeBiden
Gutsy. "I'll see you at the groundbreaking," he said to the Republicans who did not vote for the infrastructure law but are happy to take the money and build the projects.
Joe as a father and a president introduces and honors Tyree Nichol's parents.
"When police officers betray the public trust, hey must be held accountable."
Something good must come of this.
The President also introduces Brandon Tsay the hero who saved lives by disarming the gun man at the dance hall in California and said, "Ban assault weapons now."
Holding back tears as I listen to the President introduce Doug Griffin who lost his daughter Courtney in a in a fentanyl overdose.
And now he is introducing this couple (he from Ireland, she from Panama) who got married in the same church Jill and Joe did. The found out their baby daughter Ava had cancer. "They never gave up hope. . . she turns four next month."
This is an emotional journey. Utterly brilliant speech, One of the best I've ever seen delivered in my life.
From the heart and strong and so very smart. Great how he took on his hecklers sometimes with words, sometimes with a smile and ignored them.
❤️ Kvelling that Michael Kuch's The Little River was among the books displayed in the "Making the Modern Book: The Aramont Library at the Library of Congress" symposium.
The Little River (published in 2013) received two awards at the UK Fine Press Book Fair in Oxford England, both The Judges’ Choice Award and the Parrot Prize for the best illustrated book printed in the last two years, an unprecedented achievement.

Ken Shure and Liv Rockefeller of Two Ponds Press chose Michael Kuch to design and illustrate this unpublished manuscript by Margaret Wise Brown, author of Good Night Moon, The Runaway Bunny and many other classics.

Chief Judge Blackburne-Rigsby sets out procedural history of how this came to the D.C. Court of Appeals
I won't repeat that here, but in sum. This began as a case brought by Carroll against Trump in state court in NY, then removed to Fed Court . . .
And . . .

After Donald lost at SDNY, he appealed to the 2nd Cir. (That's why his name appears first in the caption).
Second circuit certified question to D.C. Court of Appeals. Question is whether Donald was acting in the scope of his employment (as POTUS) when he spoke about E. Jean

Religious pluralism is an American tradition. The founders secured religious freedom in the U.S. Constitution. Today that is more important than ever
1/
We are a diverse nation, including a quarter of Americans with no religious affiliation at all.
2/
Given that Americans who identify as Jewish, Muslim, Buddhist, and Hindu are less than 5 percent of the population, it’s astonishing how much hate is directed towards us by those claiming they are victims.
