The next time when your car breaks down remember this tweet.

This Malaysian tech company is changing the way you get roadside assistance.

This is the amazing story of Bateriku @baterikudotcom. 🔋⚡️👇 Image
Bateriku was founded by Azarol Faizi.

He entered the automotive industry in 2006 by supplying batteries to OEM manufacturers & their service centres.

Then he ventured into battery reconditioning tech to help reduce costs.

Azarol failed & lost money. But that wasn't the end. Image
It was business as usual until...

The gig economy was rising in 2012, with companies like MyTaxi (Grab) & FoodPanda entering the market.

And Azarol saw the gap in the market for battery replacements for consumers.

He wanted to make it easy & seamless for the people. Image
In 2014, he pivoted his 7-person team & transformed it to serve car owners in need (B2C).

Bateriku was born, solving a pain point & ready to disrupt the automotive industry.

They send Mobile Technicians directly to road users to deliver, inspect & replace batteries on demand. Image
In 2015, they started to build a network of Dealers under the 'BPreneur' Program to support B2C & B2B clients.

In 2017, they launched the Bateriku Customer App for a seamless customer experience.

They also crowdsourced their technicians to cope with the rapid growth. Image
They call their freelance technicians as BHero & they've trained close to 1,000 BHero nationwide.

And more than RM10 million worth of commissions were paid out.

They opened Akademi Bateriku to provide on-the-job training for the B40s.

A huge impact to the community. Image
Bateriku then expanded their on-demand battery solution by offering full-fledge Roadside Assistance to car owners.

Services include: diagnostic, tyre replacement, fuel top-ups, car lockout, tow trucks etc.

They partnered with car insurance providers & other tech companies too. Image
Bateriku has served close to 1 million customers through their hassle-free breakdown assistance.

They've onboarded almost 100 BPreneurs to help them generate more income.

Bateriku is opening more than 150 Bateriku retail outlets or Pitstops nationwide including Sabah & Sarawak. Image
Bateriku is not just about selling batteries.

They're building their ecosystem of BHero, BPreneur, BBuddy (workshops partners) to disrupt the market.

Their main asset is its network of BHero & they’re being upskilled to perform multiple services to give values for car owners. Image
Azarol & his team are not slowing down & soon expanding in Southeast Asia.

Their network is growing by the day.

The next time you need a battery replacement or road side assistance, think & thank @bateriku.

They are the heroes you never knew you needed.

Most people think government officers don’t care.

Slow to act. Hard to reach.

But in Sepang, something changed.

Azarul Azlan showed what happens when someone actually does the work. Image
1/ I’ve been reporting streetlight issues around Sepang district since 2018.

Nothing ever really got fixed. Until he took over.

In December 2022, Azarul Azlan became JKR's District Engineer.

And things started to improve. Greatly.Image
Image
2/ Roads were repaved.

Streetlights that stayed dead for years were replaced with LEDs.

Even the roads and lights around Kuala Lumpur International Airport...

Once dark and embarrassing, now look and feel world class.

It finally feels like someone cares.

Malaysia Airlines was once losing. A failing airline. A struggling brand.

Today? It's becoming profitable again. Expanding. Winning passengers.

It was because of Datuk Captain Izham Ismail.

A pilot who took the airline through its hardest times. 🧵🛫 Image
1/ Datuk Captain Izham wasn’t a typical CEO.

He started as a pilot.

He broke records flying Malaysia Airlines' first Boeing 777-200 non-stop around the world in 1997.

In 2017, he took on his biggest challenge, to save the airline he had served for years. Image
2/ Back then Malaysia Airlines was in deep trouble.

• Billions in losses
• Public trust lost after MH370 & MH17
• Years of failed turnarounds

By 2015, it was declared “technically bankrupt.”

Datuk Captain Izham had two choices:

Play it safe or do the impossible. Image

Prof. Dr. Ooi Chong Heng isn’t just a genius in science.

He’s a legend at Universiti Malaya.

People admire his brilliance, simplicity and humility.

This is the story of a man who proves that true greatness comes with humility. 🧵👇 Image
1/ Dr. Ooi is a prominent physics professor.

He’s currently serving in the Department of Physics at @unimalaya, Malaysia.

He contributed greatly in the study of quantum optics and nonlinear optics.

It means how tiny bits of light (photons) behave in weird and surprising ways. Image
2/ Dr. Ooi earned his BSc (Hons) in Physics from Universiti Sains Malaysia in 1997.

He then did a Master of Engineering at Nanyang Technological University.

He earned his PhD in quantum optics & laser cooling of molecules from the Konstanz University, Germany, in 2003. Image

He borrowed money from his grandmother to start his ice cream and tea business.

Today he has more stores than Starbucks.

This is the amazing and inspiring story of Zhang Hongchao of Mixue. 🍦🧋👇 Image
1/ Zhang Hongchao was born in Henan province, China in 1978.

He came from a poor family and used to work as a farmer and fix motorcycles.

When he entered university, he was struggling to pay his tuition fees.

With limited choices, he asked his grandmother for help. Image
2/ She lent him 3,000 RMB (about US$400 / RM1,800).

Which he used to start a small business—a simple shaved ice stall.

He had a freezer, a few chairs, and a folding table and he even built his own shaved ice machine.

The menu was simple—shaved ice, ice cream, and smoothies. Image

Change your marketing.

1. Sell your product with a story. Image
2. Don’t sell features, sell benefits. Image
