HISTORIC DEFEAT FOR UNRWA: 🇳🇱 Netherlands Parliament just voted 88-49 to phase out funding for UNRWA by 2029, citing its complicity with terror. This is first EU state to defund UNRWA, setting major precedent. We had presented key info ahead of the vote: tweedekamer.nl/debat_en_verga…
2/ As reported by journalist @coenhermenet, today's vote was part of a deal to pass the foreign aid budget. Under the agreed amendment, in 2025 UNRWA will get €15 million, instead of the originally planned €19m; then it drops to €11m, €7m, €1m.

Bravo to @chris_stoffer & @Eerdmans for their successful motion, which states: “UNRWA as an organization has been in disrepute for repeated neutrality violations and for some staff members glorifying violence in Telegram groups. In addition, there have been serious allegations against staff members participating in Oct. 7 or the Hamas and Hezbollah terrorist organizations. There is also the issue of antisemitism in UNRWA teaching methods and those of host countries, which the Colonna report also noted.
