🧵 Fact-checking Boston Children’s Hospital:

Last August BCH quietly updated their website & made a statement claiming they do not allow genital surgeries on patients “under the age of 18.” A web archive shows they allowed vaginoplasties on 17-year-olds.

Boston Children's published their policy on performing genital surgeries on minors in the journal of Pediatrics. The paper explicitly states that they "offer vaginoplasties to certain individuals before the age of majority.” publications.aap.org/pediatrics/art…

In addition to offering genital surgeries to 17-year-olds, Boston Children's Hospital published research in the Journal of Clinical Medicine that said they performed double mastectomies, the removal of healthy breasts, on 65 teen girls between 2017-2020.

Online mental health communities, which started as support groups, have evolved into vectors for social contagion & have the effect of glamorizing mental illness, where teens & young adults now embrace it as part of their identity.
What’s worse is that the people in online mental health communities (especially TikTok) aspire to be content creators/influencers for their niche psychiatric condition and are incentivized to make it their brand. sciencedirect.com/science/articl…
When your mental illness is your identity, rather than something to recover from or manage so that you can live a normal life, it defaults to a victim mentality. When you’re sick you can be excused from uncomfortable and difficult parts of life. Without growth, you stay sick.

A biology paper made the preposterous claim that the field of evolutionary biology discriminates against disabled students because of “harmful” and “ableist” language. They deliberately misrepresent statistics to demonstrate this. Read my latest!

The paper, published in @ASNAmNat, argues that concepts like “fitness” and “natural selection” —  foundational to the field of evolutionary biology — are “harmful” and have been “weaponized against marginalized communities in the modern day.”
The authors’ thesis is that evolutionary biology’s use of purportedly “ableist” terms and concepts discourages disabled people from studying the field, and is therefore more discriminatory of the disabled than other areas of study.

The Dutch studies are hailed as the “gold standard” of evidence in support of medically transitioning minors, and cited by WPATH, the Endocrine Society and American Academy of Pediatrics in crafting treatment guidelines that medicalize gender dysphoric youth.
According to the authors of the paper, the Dutch protocol—which gave hormones and surgeries to minors—would never have been accepted by today’s standards of evidence-based medicine because of its extremely low-quality research and harm caused to some of its participants.

The @Liberty_Ctr is seeking a permanent injunction to the “Parental Secrecy Policy” adopted by the district, which allows school personnel to implement a powerful psychosocial intervention on children without the knowledge or consent of their parents.
“The District’s policy of transitioning kids behind their parents’ backs is radical gender ideology at its worst,” said Harmeet Dhillon, (@pnjaban) founder of The Center for American Liberty. “For the government to assume this role is both unconstitutional and reprehensible.”

In July 2020, @CPOntario published an update from their newly established Equity, Diversity, & Inclusion Working Group, titled "A Commitment to Anti-Racism,” in response to a "call to action" from protesters during the BLM riots for businesses to adopt Social Justice doctrine.

There is no biological evidence for “gender identity” and no laboratory test that can distinguish a trans-identified person from a non-trans-identified person. Despite this, the belief in “gender identity” is used as the basis for medically transitioning thousands of minors.
A frequently perpetuated myth is that "gender identity" is a "fixed, biological trait." This assumption is refuted by evidence that roughly 60–90% of children who identify as transgender but do not socially or medically transition will no longer identify as trans in adulthood.
