Soon he returned to his brothers, who were already in the Kherson region. During this period, the counteroffensive in the Kharkiv region was just continuing.

Ivan recalls that at that time the enemy concentrated huge forces on the positions of the South, expecting an offensive.

During the counteroffensive, Ivan participated in the liberation of settlements in the Kherson region.
