This followed the huge quakes that hit Turkey, local media reported on Saturday.

The news agency Agence France-Presse has reported that 3,553 people have died in Syria.

This would take the combined number of fatalities for Turkey and Syria to 25,401;

He said he expected 10s of 1000s more deaths.
