Why did EUR get stronger? Cause they bought bonds from somewhere else (or an opposing currency devalued by printing money)

jPan and EUR and global liquidity.

jPan printed and then bought global bonds - likely a lot of EU bonds?

So what did EU buy now that they got all that liquidity?
Canadian bonds? Image

So, my suspicion is this:
jPan prints - with that new minted money, they buy both canadian bonds and EU bonds.

Now that EU is funded, they use that funding to buy canadian bonds too.

oh what webs we weave....

Everyone is doing this to keep USDCAD weak to fight the price of oil

1 barrel of oil makes ~19 gal gasoline

So, to fill the average car in america, you are consuming 1 barrel of oil - most people consume 1 barrel of oil per week.
To fly from jPan to San Francisco, it takes 150,000 litres of jet fuel. If there are 13.2 liters of jet fuel in 1 barrel of oil, that means it takes 11,500 barrels of oil to complete 1 leg of that trip. Image

Pay attn to scales - some are inverted.

Notice the spread btw svix and q's now vs what it used to be... Takes a LOT more to pull markets higher (but svix is used to crush oil...)

$AAPL missed earnings.

Stonkholders punished the company by bidding the shares higher.

Which is especially interesting as interest rates skyrocket - stonks go up as consumers get laid off from their jobs and credit card debt explodes.

With 15B shares outstanding a $1.00 rise in $AAPL = 1 Campbell's Soup corporation.

Since Jan 1, $AAPL has risen by over 20 $CPB

I live in a communist country - living here gives me a new perspective on "controlled media"

There are 2 kinds of news - the state news, official - broadcast, & people news - the unofficial gossip channel.

People are not dumb - when there is conflict btw state and official

US is sliding into the same... this whole ohio derailment sheds new light on "controlled messaging"

The ohio disaster has not hit the news like a "normal" environmental catastrophe would have in the past - where these tankers derailed is amazingly close to the watershed to the mississipi river - a watersupply lifeline to a HUGE portion of america. Image

I have a short story to tell about this and a caution to anyone living in USA near chemical plants or rail lines that move them

๐Ÿงต๐Ÿ‘‡
This comes from experience. Real personal experience that cost me, well, pretty much everything - and part of the reason i live in vnam now.

First - please understand: There are federal laws.
There are federal regulations
There are state laws
There are state regulations
Federal laws > everything else.

Regulations interpret the laws.
Typically, state laws just adopt - verbatim - the federal laws.

But - where do these laws come from?

The regulated. Yip - industry - thru their massive lobby arm - write them laws....
