Meet Karl

He came to me looking for help with his 15 years worth of chronic cystic acne

After hopping from doctor to specialists with no success

He decided to tackle it from a holistic perspective

These were his results after JUST 3 months

Here’s what we did

What’s happening on your skin is happening in your gut

Your gut is your biggest detoxifier

When it’s not working properly

Your skin takes a beating
Your liver (filtration system) and gallbladder are also huge in all this

These organs are very sluggish for many of you due to poor lifestyle choices such as:

Bad diets
Excessive stress
Chronic alcohol use

Just to name a few
Yes, hormones can play a role in acne

But Karl was in his 30s & no longer under significant hormonal changes as seen in teenage years

He tried a few supplements & extreme diets but nothing seemed to work
His dermatologist told him there was nothing they could do but give him creams and antibiotics

Karl felt there had to be another way which is when he came to see me

We had a lot of work to do
But Karl was determined to succeed and committed to the process

Here’s what we used to beat his skin condition once and for all…
1. Lowered inflammation

Karl was very stressed (inflamed) & intermittent fasting a lot which made him feel like he was running on an empty tank

We developed sustainable eating practices in which he ate small meals in the morning
If it came in a package or was hyper processed (seed oils)

He wouldn’t touch it with a 10 foot pole

He stuck to whole foods with lots beef, game meats, vegetables and fruits
We added lots of herbs for seasoning to his foods

Many of which had potent antimicrobial effects to support balancing his gut

He avoided gluten and cow dairy (inflammatory)
2. Organ meats and Vitamin A

One big factor in his success was organ meats

For 3 months, he consumed daily small amounts of grass fed beef liver

He’d freeze them and eat them as per my advice

Liver has tons of Vitamin A/Retinol

Which is vital to skin and liver health
Retinol is the most bioavailable form of Vitamin A

It helps:

Skin cells production
Unclogs/exfoliate pores
Increase collagen to improve skin appearance
Accutane

The most popular prescribed acne treatment

Is a derivative of Vitamin A

But comes with a laundry list of nasty side effects

Ask anyone who’s taken it and they’ll tell you it's a nightmare
You’re better off sticking to natural forms of Retinol like Liver

We even used quality cod liver oil as a buffer

You don't want to do super long bouts of liver to avoid Vitamin A toxicity
3. Liver detox & Gallbladder support

Your liver filters and your gallbladder drains

Your skin suffers when these two organs are backlogged

Karl’s liver needed work so we ended up doing a 24-48 hour fast

Along with supplements to help support Phase 1 and Phase 2 liver detox
Supplements that support liver detoxification include:

Phase 1 : B Vitamins, Folate, Vitamin A/C/D/E, Milk thistle. Calcium. Glutathione

Phase 2: Glycine, Taurine, Glutamine, Cysteine , Magnesium, Sulfur based compounds found in garlic or artichoke
Your Gallbladder take all the junk from your liver with the help of bile

and flushes it into your gut where you eventually poop it out

4. Antimicrobials

The terrain of your gut determines the health of your skin

Gut dysbiosis caused by excessive fungal growth or other pathogens like bacteria or parasites cause tons of skin issues

For Karl, we determined to attack them all and bring back harmony to his gut
We used anti parasitics like:

Wormwood
Black Walnut hulls
Artermisin
Olive leaf extract
For antifungals, we used:

Saccharomyces Boulardii
Black seed oil
Berberine
Caprylic acid
Pau D’arco
Oregano oil
Enzyme blend (biofilms)
5. Repair leaky gut

A leaky gut is a inflamed one

Karl needed to heal his gut if we wanted to really take his skin to the next level

There’s a mucus layer that protects the lining of your gut

When it’s not there, your immune system gets triggered which causes inflammation
We need to help regenerate this mucosal layer, balance out the immune response and give his gut the building blocks it needed to repair

Some of the tools we used include:

High dose probiotics (100+ billion)
Slippery Elm/DGL
Zinc Carnosine
Colostrum
Glutamine
DAO
6. Red light Therapy

Since Karl lived in a northern country with not much sun during the winter

We needed to get creative

Red light therapy became his go to regimen

He started going to a spa a couple of times a week to try it out and was impressed with the results
Eventually, Karl realized the power of Red light therapy and bought a lamp at home

The red and Near infrared light helps:

Stimulate skin collagen production
Support mitochondria (healing)
Lower inflammation

What drags most people down health wise aren’t medical problems

They’re lifestyle problems

Yet when you describe an energy problem, a sleep problem or stress or anxiety problem to a doctor

They’ll approach it from a medical lens
The way you define what you're struggling with colors the type of solution that's on the table
