Plans to privatise the NHS didn’t happen today or yesterday either under Tory governments that stretch as far back as Margaret Thatcher. David Cameron and every Tory PM since just accelerated the process and now we have a raft of private health providers sucking the NHS dry!
And they are all linked to the Tory Party. Welcome to the Tory world of Buddy Contracts on an industrial scale. That is also why these Tory governments are also in favour of Brexit as they are out to de-regulate trading rules and pilfer the public sector.
Can’t wait to be recovered sufficiently from my wound infection and all the other health scares that came with it to get out there and join the protests for better pay for all public sector workers on strike and help salvage what’s left of our NHS! #ToriesOut #ToriesCostLives
Starmer had better get the message loud and clear that any secret partnership over Brexit with the Tories or sucking up to the Brexit Red Wall will cost him dearly at the next General Election. No time for Red or Green Tories either in Britain or Ireland! Send the scum packing!
Keir Hardie and all the famous Labour Party men and women of the past would turn in their graves to see how willing the current British Labour Party is to trade in its core principles for the sake of office and the keys of No 10. #NoRedTories #BrexitHasFailed

One of the reasons we have growing hospital lists is because many consultants are off lining their own pockets by working in the private sector when they should be performing operations full time in the NHS.
A recent example will illustrate just how lucrative it is for a consultant to spend even a couple of days a week performing operations in the private sector! Patient pays £12,000 up front for knee or hip replacement - Consultant earns around £1,200 for a couple of hours work.
Multiple that figure by say 5 operations that day and you get £6,000 for just one day’s work and then multiply that by three times a week and you arrive t the princely sum of between £12,000-£18,000 per week for part time work.

A week and two days back home and another visit to the outpatients clinic tomorrow again. Wound still open and was oozing last Friday so hoping it shows improvement. Worrying time but keeping spirits up!
Problem is that hospitals discharge the patient immediately the IV antibiotic course of treatment is finished due to their priorities in freeing up a bed. However that approach is flawed..👇
The smarter thing to do is to continue monitoring the same patient in hospital for a few days whilst an open wound has not fully healed as it cost them much more in the long run if any infection returns in terms of the need for long term bed occupancy and another wound clean out

As an historian it’s fair to say that no one should be necessarily blamed for anything their ancestors did or didn’t do in the past but in the case of today’s surviving Trevelyan family it’s a little more complicated than that!

- Via @Lovindotie lovin.ie/amp/news/bbc-j…
For a starter, BBC reporter, Laura Trevelyn’s current family has already seemingly done well enough from the ignominious actions of their four times removed Grandfather, Charles Trevelyn of the Irish famine hall of shame when they could choose to voluntarily cough up £100,000!
That not insignificant amount whilst seen as a noble gesture that was also accompanied by a formal apology for their ancestor, Charles Trevelyn’s part in the slave plantations on the island of Granada raises uncomfortable questions.

A prominent Northern Ireland loyalist activist is currently engaged in demonising local politicians like Claire Hanna, Naomi Long and well known human rights academics like Colin Harvey and BBC radio presenter William Crawley. 👇
This is another sinister development on the back of the recent garbage propaganda being used to associate the immortal words of Martin Niemoller’s famous poem, ‘First they came…’ to sit his pitifully sick agenda.
The most recent propaganda piece to emerge from the same source is to twist the situation around NHS Nursing staff shortages and the cost of living crisis with the alleged costs incurred from implementing goods checks at the Irish Sea border as part of the NIP.

Spending Christmas Day in a hospital ward is a weird experience and yesterday was no exception with the added drama of having to have the wound site opened up again simply because the vacuum machine that draws out any infected fluid wasn't working properly.
The damn machine malfunctioned and bleeped a blockage problem all Christmas eve, night and Christmas Day morning until the registrar agreed to replace it which meant conducting an immediate medical procedure on my bed in the ward despite having just eaten my Christmas dinner.
That also meant not just replacing machine and tubes attached but also opening the wound itself to replace the sponge used to absorb and suck out any infection present.

Orthopaedic Surgeons are not typically bearers of good news on the hospital rounds. They almost invariably give you the very worst case scenario possible. So not Cheery! Mine gave me a 400 to one chance of survival from my hip infection.
Apparently even if the patient has done everything by the book he or she can still suffer a number of fatal outcomes including a heart attack or stroke etc etc. I am now in effect a high risk patient for the foreseeable future.
They refuse to treat any other ailments whilst I am recovering no matter how painful it may be. Other than tablets for say inflammation it's a big no to any other surgery or other treatments. That's how high their concerns are as to adverse effects arising from other treatments
