Today @CrexUiO launches the RTV Map Tool. This #openaccess tool provides detailed information, incl. geolocation, on right-wing violent attacks in Western Europe since 1990. A thread 1/10 sv.c-rex.uio.no/RTVMapTool/

The RTV Map Tool, which is based on the Right-Wing Terrorism and Violence (RTV) dataset, contains information about all fatal right-wing incidents since 1990 (226 in total). 2/10

The tool also contains information about all fatal and severe, but non-fatal, right-wing incidents since 2015 (1108 in total). 3/10

WARNING // The Map Tool includes graphic references to violence/murder, mass shootings, violence towards children, sexual assault, racism, self-harm, discrimination based on ethnicity, religion, sexuality and appearance, and other disturbing content. 4/10

The RTV Map Tool allows you to select certain time periods, countries, regions, incident types, numbers and types of victims, perpetrator types and weapon types. 5/10

The RTV Map Tool also allows you to make your own figures regarding levels of violence across time and space, as well as target groups and perpetrator types. All figures can be downloaded. 6/10

The RTV Map Tool is based on the RTV Dataset, which documents right-wing terrorism and violence in 18 West European countries between 1990-2021. You may download the dataset free of charge on our website 7/10

An updated version of the RTV Dataset and the RTV Map Tool with data from 2022 will be released later this spring. We hope the tool will generate increased awareness of one of the many challenges facing Europe today. 10/10
