Looking at the one-year-change in inflation is like saying "the vehicle increased its speed only by 10 points to 80 MPH which is a slow down of its increase from 35 MPH to 70 MPH."

It's incomplete if not misleading.

Here is the 2-year change in inflation:

After the month-over-month inflation in July '22 was zero, Biden boasted that inflation is zero.

Now when the month-over-month report for Jan is bad, he is focusing on year-over-year which seems better.

Monthly/yearly is a misleading.

The two year window shows the real story.

Inflation in Jan '23 was 3.5 times worse than the January of Biden's inflation:

14.3% now vs 4.00 back then!

The propaganda continues. Today, @JeffCoxCNBCcom reports that the month over month 3% change in retail sales in Jan "outpaced the 0.5% inflation" for the month.

Um, Retail sales year over year (YoY) is up 6.4%; the same as inflation which means retails sales was FLAT!

Yesterday, the propagandists focused mostly on the Year Over Year changed in inflation because it looked better than the month-over-month change.

Today, these HACKS focus on the monthly change in Retail Sales which seems GREAT because the Year Over Year change is BAD!
