The CDC published the results of its youth risk assessment survey. After showing incredibly high rates of mental health issues in girls and LGBTQ youth, Florida told schools to withdraw from the program. They're trying to hide what they're doing to kids.

There are several states bills around the country that are attempting to ban participation in surveys on mental health in schools, especially around LGBTQ youth. They don't want the truth of the effects of their anti LGBTQ policies getting out.

The day after hundreds of current and former NYT writers pleaded with the NYT to stop their transphobic coverage and days after a 16 year old trans girl in the UK was murdered in a hate crime, they publish this bullshit.

They don't care. The cruelty is the point. Image
This is the same writer who is a damn straight white woman trying to police a black queer woman on what words to use to describe their identity. The god damn caucasity. ImageImage
She apparently gets a lot of questions. Maybe ask her why she wrote this.

Arkansas has introduced a bill that would criminalize trans people using the a restroom consistent with their gender identity while a minor is present as "sexual indecency with a child." This is one of the most heinous anti-trans bills I've ever seen.

legiscan.com/AR/text/SB270/… Image
This law would in effect ban trans people from public restrooms and that's the point. If a trans person uses the bathroom consistent with their gender identity, they could be arrested. If they don't, they could be assaulted by others thinking they are using the wrong restroom. Image
The bill has to completely rewrite the section of the law it is amending because currently "sexual indecency with a child" is a felony. It creates additional misdemeanor charges for restroom use and exempts misdemeanor convictions from being considered a sex crime. Image

He's going to get rid of blocking and muting isn't he.
In anticipation of the API access being deprecated, I ran a massive block on all Twitter Blue verified accounts with less than 1000 followers recently created. It was about 150k. My total block count is probably close to a million at this point.
It's not surprising that conservative and other accounts are disproportionately blocked more. Even if this is resulting in less reach because of an issue in the backend, blocking is a necessity to function on this site without excessive harassment and threats.

The so called "whistleblower" Jamie Reed is being represented by far right attorney Vernadette Broyles, the ED of the Child and Parental Rights Campaign that compared LGBTQ people to "cockroaches."
This is a tactic pulled straight from the anti-abortion playbook. Someone with no medical background with a connection to a clinic will make wild accusations that aren't able to be fact checked due to it involving private medical records.

texasmonthly.com/news-politics/…
The right wing media runs with it as a sensational news story that "finally" confirms their exact narratives. It'll be all over Fox News and every far right media site for days and weeks during the legislative session.

This is the likely account of Sarah Clendaniel, a neo-nazi charged with plotting to destroy the Baltimore power grid and girlfriend of neo-nazi atomwaffen founder, Brandon Russell.

reuters.com/legal/fbi-arre…
She regularly posted tweets about attacks on power grids and called for "more."
Turns out she's a fan of Christopher Rufo and decided to dox the people mentioned in Rufo's tweet.

Arkansas just introduced an insidious new bill that seeks to effectively ban access to gender affirming care through a ridiculous private right of action mechanism. This is purposefully designed to evade judicial review in courts similar to SB8 in Texas.

arkleg.state.ar.us/Bills/FTPDocum…
The ban acts as a "affirmative defense" to the private right of action. Meaning, providers have to do this to avoid liability. The defenses institute a 2 year wait and limit gender affirming care to trans people with no other mental health issue or disability like autism or ADHD.
To avoid liability, a provider can never treat a minor trans patient that has autism, ADHD, depression, or depression. Depression is often a symptom of gender dysphoria. This would be like if you couldn't treat migraines if you have nausea. It's absurd on its face.
