As the legacy of the iconic #YashChopra is celebrated through #TheRomantics on Netflix, here are some trivias related to Yash Chopra and Yash Raj Films..

After Daag (1973), Yash Chopra was reportedly producing a film called #Gardish, directed by #PranMehra, feat. @SrBachchan #NeetuSingh and #ParveenBabi.

The film was eventually shelved, and the lead cast teamed up for #Deewar (1975).

In 1993, Yash Chopra launched another banner "Aditya Films Pvt. Ltd." under which they produced #Aaina (1993) and #YehDillagi (1994) - both directed by his assistants - Deepak Sareen & Naresh Malhotra, respectively.

Breakthrough for composer duo Dilip Sen - Sameer Sen.

#Parampara (1993) was the last film that Yash Chopra directed for an outside banner (this one was for AG Nadiadwala).

Before that, he made 5 films for brother #BRChopra's BR Films and Joshila, Deewar & Trishul for #GulshanRai's Trimurti Films.

In 1995, launched another banner
#Metavision - under which they made possibly the first Indian reality show - #MeriAwazSuno with Lata Mangeshkar & Doordarshan, which @SunidhiChauhan5 had won.

In 1997, Metavision produced TV folm #HumkoIshqNeMara, directed by #ArjunSablok.

Back in late 90s when Star Plus was consolidating its position in Indian Market, they had a string of premieres of the just released films - Ghulam, Satya and Yash Chopra's #DilToPagalHai.

Subsequently all films were with Sony Network for the longest time - now back with Star.

Zee TV did the same in 2002, and got two YRF films - Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai and Mujhse Dosti Karoge.

YRF distributed films Zubeida, Gajagamini, Meenaxi, Maqbool, My Brother Nikhil, Sins, Maine Gandhi Ko Nahi Maara, A number of films by Dharma Productions (from KKHH to Dostana), Filmkraft (From KNPH to Krish), Black, Mangal Pandey, Happy New Year and Piku.

In overseas, YRF distributed Biwi No. 1, Mann, Godmother, Jaanwar, Dulhan Hum Le Jaayenge, Refugee, Deewane, Aashiq, Main Prem Ki Diwani Hoon, Gayab, Yaraan Naal Baharan, All The Best, Tubelight, Jab Harry Met Sejal, Ittefaq, Zero, Saaho, De De Pyaar De, , Loveyatri and Dabang 3.

Also distributed animated films like Chhota Bheem and the Throne of Bali, Hanuman vs Mahiravana and Chhota Bheem: Kung Fu Dhamaka.

Through their "Forver Classics" intiative, YRF Entertainment released the DVDs of films by BR Films, RK Films, Pramod Films and Bimal Roy Productions..

YRF established their independent music distribution leg under the name YRF Music in 2004.

Apart from their own productions, also released the music of films like Mangal Pandey and Jurm.

YRF Digital have now partnered with Saga Music to release independent songs/singles.

In 2008, YRF teamed up with the Walt Disney Studios to create animation feature films.

#RoadsideRomeo directed by Jugal Hansraj remains the first and only film made through this partnership.

The film bagged the National Award for the Best Animation Film that year.

All their satelite rights were with Sony Network, with the exception of #LafangeyParindey (2010) which went to Colors TV.

Colors's #IndiasGotTalent was an integral part of the film's plot.

1st January, 2010 marked the entry of 'YRF Television', a subsidiary of Yash Raj Films Pvt. Ltd. on Sony TV - with 1 non-fiction show (Lift Kara De) and 6 fictions shows (Mahi Way, Rishta.com, Powder, Seven, Khote Sikkey and Kismat).

In 2011, they launched #YFilms - a subsidiary of YRF with a focus of introducing fresh talent.

Launched Shraddha Kapoor, Taaha Shah, Saqib Saleem, Saba Azad, Nishant Dahiya, Tara D'Souza, Prabal Panjabi, Meherzan Mazda, Jannat Rahmani and Rhea Chakraborty among others.

. @arjunk26 was supposed to make his debut with a Y Films production - #VirusDewan, which got shelved, and Arjun eventually made his debut with #Ishaqzaade (2012).

Another film "Darr 2.O" , a revamped version of Darr under Y Films was announced, but hasn't released so far.

Also made several mini-series and anthologies under Y Films - Man's World, Bang Baaja Baaraat, Ladies Room, Sex Chat With Pappu & Papa, Love Shots and Pyaar Actually.

In 2013, YRF announced #Paani to be directed by Shekhar Kapur with Sushant Singh Rajput in the lead (earlier Hrithik Roshan was signed for the same). Eventually the film got shelved.

In 2014, "YRF Entertainment" - the English-language subsidiary Yash Raj Films, produced films like #TheLongestWeek and #GraceOfMonaco.

Another film #SeducingIngridBergman was announced, and is yet to release.

Uday Chopra produced movies under YRF Entertainment.

In 2014, It was announced that YRF Entertainment would produce the English remake of Sujoy Ghosh's Kahaani - titled #Deity, and was supposed to be directed by Niels Arden Oplev, while Jose Rivera (The Motorcycle Diaries) and Richard Regen (Tehran) would script the adaptation.

#Deity didn't happen. But YRF Entertainment is finally back in the digital space with #TheRomantics and #TheRailwayMen and a number of other projects.

In 2016, they launched yFX - the visual effects facility at YRF Studios.

Apart from their own productions, yFX also worked for films like Mubarakan, Bharat, Uri : The Surgical Strike and the Chinese film Legend Of Genghis Khan (2018).

Among the recent films that YRF distributed - Jai Mummy Di, Malang, Jersey, Runway 34, Rocketry, Uunchai, Drishyam 2, Vadh, Kuttey and the upcoming Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar.

YRF entered the regional market with #AahaKalyanam (2014) feat. Nani and Vaani Kapoor, directed by
A. Gokul Krishna, Tamil remake of their own Band Baaja Baaraat (2010).

A dubbed Telugu version was released simultaneously.

Since then, YRF has released the dubbed versions of Gunday (in Bengali), Dhoom 3, War, Prithviraj, Shamshera & Pathaan, and will also be releasing Tiger 3 in Tamil and Telugu.

Also released Happy New Year, Chhota Bheem films & Hanuman Vs. Mahiravana in various Indian languages.
