Things weren't going great at a lot of places in the years before covid. Delays, disappointments, big dreams, bad plans, believing Unreal/Unity was going to solve everything...
Covid came along and became a convenient scapegoat for all of our problems but it was the car that hit the cancer patient on the way to the hospital.
I do NOT believe that WFH is inherently better (though I do work with teams or great, smart people in 3 different timezones, who definitely wouldn't all up and move to Seattle if forced.)
I actually miss the office and being in one last week was great. Hybrid would be my ideal.
"Is WFH better" isn't an argument I care about anymore.
It's just not realistic to ask people to almost definitely reduce their current quality of life to relocate for a job in a field that lays ppl off regularly.
"Can it work?" is a better question and we know that it can.
