Ready to measure density in your neighborhood? We’re excited to announce the official release of #Residensity, our new site for measuring & exploring residential density & housing type anywhere in MA! Now available to everyone.🏡📊🥳🎉mhp.net/residensity 1/ @KimDriscollMA
#Residensity can help researchers answer questions such as relationship btw residential density & socioeconomic diversity, or conduct proximity analysis, such as how many homes are within ½ mile of a train station or other community assets. 5/ @BosIndicators@UMASSDonahue
Residensity allows you to search, explore & interact with over 2.16 million unique parcels across MA! Each interactive parcel contains info on residential unit counts, density estimates & standardized use descriptions. 6/ @berkie1@crschmidt@SasserModestino@planetizen
#Residensity’s Neighborhood Analysis tool calculates aggregate density estimates & total unit counts for any area you choose. The tool generates breakdowns by housing type to give you more detailed insight. Try it & measure density in your neighborhood 🏡 7/ @BARIboston
You can draw neighborhoods in multiple ways. Draw a custom area or use our distance buffer tool. Here, we created a ½ mile area around Gloucester’s Commuter Station & found that this area has a density of 9.08 units/acre. 8/ @MAPCMetroBoston@SRPEDD_NEWS@transitmatters
Draw multiple neighborhoods & switch btw them with click of a button. Check out these 2 areas in Springfield, one with mix of higher density lots & one with low density single family. Compare & contrast density patterns to your heart’s content! 9/ @HousingFwdMA@AbundantHomesMA
What good is data if you can’t share it? We’ve added functionality for exporting data straight from #Residensity. You can download pre-formatted PDF maps, data tables & more. Here’s PDF map we generated of a neighborhood in Webster, MA. 10/ @salimfurth@andrewnbrinker@LisaBJaco
You can even take our data to-go! Download data from Residensity & import it straight into your GIS software to use in your own analyses. We believe in data accessibility & we’re looking forward to seeing all the ways you take advantage of our #dataviz🤓11/ @jarjoh@DFulginiti
We hope Residensity will contribute to conversations around density & planning. Share something interesting about your neighborhood using #Residensity & tag @mhpdata to add to the growing conversation about density in MA! 🏡📊 12/end @CHAPAdotorg@HellerRachel

We wanted to update you on #Residensity, our new site for exploring & measuring density & housing type anywhere in MA. A group of users are testing a beta version now & we will be test driving it Fri/Sat at @massmunicipal conference (booth 716). 1/ @transitmatters@APA_Mass
We're aiming for full release in a few weeks. We want to get the user experience right. Why are we psyched? Nobody has calculated density across state before or built methodology to keep data fresh. People will get housing units & density estimates in a matter of seconds. 2/
Residensity has housing unit counts, density estimates & standardized use descriptions for every residential lot in MA – over 2.16M unique parcels (but who’s counting 😎). Did we mention every parcel is interactive? 3/ @BarrFdn@CHAPAdotorg@masscdcs@joeboncore@cdempc
