Demise of Hazrat Abu Talib (a) uncle of Holy Prophet (pbuh): 🧵

Abu Talib the father of Ali b.Abi Talib (a) and the uncle of Muhammaﷺ, was among the nobles of Mecca and the Tribe of Banu Hashim. After Abd al-Muttalib, his father, passed away, he took the guardianship of Rasol (s), his nephew, and greatly supported him during his mission.1/10

There are different reports on the day and month Abu Talib passed away, but according to al-Shaykh al-Tusi , he passed away on Rajab 26, 10th of bi'tha (Rajab 26, After mentioning the date Lady Khadija (a) passed away,/2

On the day Abu Talib passed away, the Prophet (s) asked Ali (a) to perform the ghusl of the dead for Abu Talib and enshroud him while he (s) was very sorrowful and cried and prayed to Allah for Abu Talib's (a) forgiveness. When they arrived at the burial place of Abu Talib a./3

It would be better if we enquire about the sincerity of faith of Abu Talib from his honest near ones, because the owner of a house knows better what is within When Ali informed the Prophet about the death of Abu Talib the latter wept bitterly./4

He directed Ali to arrange for his bathing, shrouding and burial ceremonies, and prayed to Allah for the salvation of the departed soul.
Imam Muhammad Baqir says: "The faith of Abu Talib was superior to the faith of many peoples ,/5

"He was buried in Mecca beside the grave of his father Abd al-Muttalib (a) in al-Hajun cemetery. Yaqubi believes that he passed away three days later at the age of 86 or 90./6

The Prophet (s) called that year "Aam al-Huzn" (Year of Sorrow).

Imam Ja'far Sadiq says: "Abu Talib was like the People of the Cave. They had faith in their hearts but pretended to be polytheists. For this reason they will be rewarded twice" /7

26th Month of Rajab
Death of Anniversary of the Prophets (pbuh) uncle, Abu Talib (as), who brought him up after the early death of his parents.

"Did He not find you an orphan and give you shelter' /8

Ameerul Momineen (a۔s) said:
"When My father (Abu Talib a.s ) was at his last moments ,The Prophet صcame to His bed and gave me glad tidings (promises) about Him which seemed more appealing to me than the world and what is in it"
