*Why is it important to save a transfer this week?
Barring any extraordinary emergency in your team, I think saving the transfer should be the play for most FPL managers this week.
It will give you a lot of flexibility heading into Gameweek 25 along with a week of extra information on who the best Liverpool assets are to target.
A lot of us have loaded up on Man Utd and have little to no Liverpool in our squads so those transfers can be used to get rid of some of the Man United players who are blanking in GW25 (and GW28) at the same time jumping on some of the Liverpool assets who are doubling in GW25.
*What should someone with two free transfers do?
You should definitely look at saving one with a view of using the other to optimize Gameweek 25. For example, If you own the likes of Cancelo, Patterson or Bueno you can move one of them on to Tarkowski.
Even a high upside play like MItrovic to Felix is fine as long as it doesn't price you out of any future transfers.
*What to do with Mitrovic?
Keeping Mitrovic makes sense. Statistically, he was one of the highest underperformers in GW25 and on any other day, could have had a double digit haul. He's been an injury doubt before yet started a couple of times this season as well.
I expect him to be fine. I see little reason to sell him with just one free transfer, especially considering that he has a favourable fixture at home to Wolves in Gameweek 25.
*What to do with City defenders this week?
I'd bench Ake this week as I expect Laporte to start which puts Ake's starting position in doubt. I expect one of Ake or Dias to play - and it's tough to say who it will be.
It will probably be Dias on merit but could also be Ake as Dias has already started twice since his return from injury. I expect Akanji to come back in so I would start him if I had him in my squad.
*Is Ben White worth persisting with?
Yes. I expect him to start after Tomiyasu had a performance to forget against Manchester City. Arsenal play in the early kick-off anyway so there is a good chance we hear some news before the deadline.
*Which chip strategy works best keeping in mind the blank and double GWs to come?
It's very difficult to lock-in the best chip strategy at the moment without the additional information we get as to who is blanking in GW28 and 32 - which we will have a fair idea about after GW25.
Until then, the best we can do till Gameweek 25 is not to overcommit on Brighton and Liverpool so that we don't "commit" to a strategy by the time we have additional information.
*Wolves, Chelsea or Everton defence - which one would you buy if picking one this week?
Wolves are a no-go since we’d only want their assets from GW25 after which they have a rough run of fixtures. They are also not guaranteed a fixture in GW28 at the time of writing.
Someone like a Tarkowski is extremely cheap and could represent good value as Everton have a good run of fixtures from GW25-28, including a double without any blank.
I prefer an Everton defender over a Chelsea defender because most of us own an Arsenal defender, Trippier and Shaw - who we'd be comfortable fielding in most weeks after GW25 hence the main week we need them for is GW25 when Everton have a double while Chelsea play Spurs away.
*Sell Shaw or Trippier if selling one?
Trippier plays Wolves at home in GW27 and has a guaranteed fixture v Nottingham Forest in Gameweek 28 when Shaw is going to blank.
I don't like the thought of selling either this week, but if it was one it should be Shaw - unless you're well set on Wildcarding in Gameweek 27 in which case selling Trippier would make more sense.
*Odegaard or Martinelli to Saka worth a FT?
Yes. Keeping in mind that Arsenal have such a favourable fixture schedule as well as no blanks, the best options need to be prioritized.
Even the fixtures after Gameweek 25 (BOU ful CRY) are great so now is the time to bring in whoever you think are the optimal three to own.
Saka clearly wins against Martinelli when it comes to expected minutes while if you want to captain an Arsenal player in Gameweek 25, it is highly likely that you'd want to go for Saka over Odegaard.
*What free transfer to make if committing to a Free Hit in GW25?
If you're committing to a Free Hit in GW25, then getting someone like a Joao Felix makes a lot of sense. He's a high upside pick in my opinion.
He's up against Southampton this week followed by great fixtures against Leeds, Leicester and Everton across GW26 till 28. The only "tough" fixture on paper is the one against Spurs in GW25 (when you will be Free Hitting) and he also plays in GW28 when other teams are blanking.
