🌺Hoysaleswara temple, also referred simply as the Halebidu temple, is a 12th-century Hindu temple dedicated to Bhagwan Shiva.🌺
It is the largest monument in Halebidu, a town in the state of Karnataka, India and the former capital of the Hoysala Empire.
The temple was built on the banks of a large man-made lake, and sponsored by King Vishnuvardhana of the Hoysala Empire. Its construction started around 1121 CE and was complete in 1160 CE.
During the early 14th century, Halebidu was twice sacked and plundered by the Muslim armies of the Delhi Sultanate from northern India and the temple and the capital fell into a state of ruin and neglect.
Here is a painting depicting Adi Shankaracharya seated under a canopy holding a pennon in his left hand. Adi Shankara (8th cent. CE) also called Adi Shankaracharya was an Indian Vedic scholar and teacher whose works present a harmonizing..
..reading of the shastras, with liberating knowledge of the self at its core, synthesizing the Advaita Vedanta teachings of his time. In this composition his right hand is in the gesture of discourse with four disciples seated on his right.
The painting has an interesting colour scheme of blue, brown, red and gold, from Tanjore, dated to the 19th century now kept in Salarjung Museum.
⚜️In Hinduism,both Kuber& Goddess Lakshmi r associated with wealth &prosperity but there is a difference.⚜️
🌺Do u know that?
Lakshmi is connected with divinity, auspiciousness whereas Kuber is connected with material prosperities acquired in the form of wealth, opulence&riches.
Sri Lakshmi devi is Parashakti, the reason behind the creation ,maintenance , and destruction of infinite universes. She is Narayani, the divine energy of Purushottama. She is source of all potencies, wealth, knowledge, strength, etc.
Goddess of wealth and fortune is just one of the minor aspect of Mahalakshmi mahadevi.
Kuber on the other hand is a demi god who is deity of wealth and protector of wealth, but the very source of Kuber’s wealth is upon the side glances of Shri Devi Lakshmi.
⚜️Everyone now knows that the Moorthis of Ramlala and Janaki Mata in the Ayodhya Ram Mandir will be carved from the Shaligram stone, for which two Shila (Rocks) weighing 14 and 26 tons, which is around 68 million years old will be used.⚜️
The two rocks were discovered in the Kali Gandaki river, not far from Saligram or Muktinath(the place of redemption)in Nepal's Mustang province.
🌺But why only Shaligram? Why not any other rock?🌺
Lets know the'Pauranik Katha'which tells us about the importance of Saligram Shila.
The story goes;
Once there was a pious girl named Vrinda born in the Asura Clan to Kalanemi. Vrinda was a great devotee of Sri Vishnu, since her childhood she worshipped Prabhu with great devotion and as result of her devotion to Prabhu, her husband Jalandhar became invincible.
