महाशिवरात्रि की हार्दिक शुभकामनाएं।

Why is #Mahashivratri known as Hairat/Herat in Kashmir? Kashmiri Hindus had a tradition of carving Linga with snow on Shivaratri.

Jabbar Khan,Afghan governor, banned Shivaratri & ordered Hindus to celebrate festival in snow-less Ashadha(July)
That year, it miraculously snowed in Ashadha and Shivaratri was celebrated. Everybody was shocked (Hairat=shock in Persian) and festival was celebrated. Kashmiris have a saying "Wuchton yih Jabbar, jandah, Haras tih karun wandah"- look at Jabbar wretch, he turned Hara into snow"
Incidentally, Jabbar was the last Afghan governor of Kashmir. Within 8 years of this incident, a general of Maharaja Ranjit Singh named Misr Diwan Chand (who himself was an ardent Shiva devotee) invaded Kashmir & Afghan rule came to an end. Afghans were expelled from Kashmir.
Although some linguists give a simple etymological derivation of Herath from *hara+ratri, the above anecdote is its traditional exegesis as preserved in the Kashmiri Hindu tradition

I expected such questions. But I have data and am informed.

In British India, today's Pakistan region was growing at 1.6% per annum whereas India only at 0.4% per annum. Pakistan region had 4 times higher growth.

And Lahore population grew by more than 10 times in 70 years. ImageImage
In 1872, Hyderabad (India) was three times larger than Lahore.

By 1945, Lahore surpassed Hyderabad.

Such highly unprecedented rate of growth was due to canal colonies established by the British in West Punjab. What was hitherto wasteland was transformed into agricultural hub.
This region gave highest number of soldiers for British India and substantial budget from British military was allocated here.

However, the British cannot bail you out forever. The British benefits were reaped by Pakistanis for decades and their economy was better until 2000.

What is common among:

Taj Mahal
Bet Dwaraka
Charminar
Ambani's house
77% of Delhi
42% of Hyderabad
International school of Business
Wipro Hyderabad office
Delhi Airport

These lands are all owned or claimed by WAQF board!

A thread on WAQF: History of India's biggest land scam🧵
The word "WAQF" is NOT FOUND in Quran. (NOT found even in Indian constitution). There is a reference only in much later Hadiths.

The milords who ban Diwali crackers on premise of their alleged absence in Hindu scriptures must be asked: Will they ban WAQF on the same premise??
Earliest archaeological reference to WAQF is only in the 10th century. No recorded proof of WAQF before that.

However, this WAQF was totally different from WAQF boards that exist today.

To appreciate the difference, let us understand what WAQF meant then and what it means now

A Bengali Hindu widow named Hotee established a School in Varanasi for ALL women. She taught Poetry, Law, Mathematics and Ayurveda. She was awarded the title "Vidyalankar" by Kashi Pandits.

This was BEFORE Savitribai Phule was even born.

First Indian female teacher who?
India has had a very rich tradition of female teachers right from the Vedic age.

Why is this entire history and tradition intentionally buried to glorify a British Missionary Savitribai Phule as the first female teacher of India?

Harkunwar Sethani was an orthodox Jain lady. She built Maganlal Karamchand School for girls in Ahmedabad. The construction was started in 1847 (completed 1850) which was one year BEFORE Savitribai Phule's "school".

Why are hundreds of women like them ignored to hail Savitribai?

Gorakhnath temple has a recorded history of at least 800 years.

The temple existed even before Nawab Asaf-Ud-Daulah was born in 18th century.

How could the Nawab grant land for construction of a temple that existed for hundreds of years before his own birth?

Fake news!
Gorakhnath temple is much older than the Nawab. It was believed to be established by Gorakhnath himself.

Whatever the case, the temple was already destroyed by Khilji in 13th century, meaning it already existed by then

From "Gorakhnath and the Kanphata Yogis" by George W Briggs Image
Far from being built on the land donated by Nawab Asaf-Ud-Daulah, the Gorakhpur Imambada itself was built on a former temple site.

Following Cunnigham's Archaeological survey of India, Sita Ram Goel lists the Imambada among former temple sites in his book "Hindu temples" Image

Vivekananda-"The Aryans must have come to India from way to the North"

He believed Hinduism came to India from outside.

I've been told that anyone who disagrees with Swami is anti Hindu and anti Bengali racist. But the same people get all worked up on hearing the word "Aryan" Image
Vivekananda-"Originally the immigrating Aryan race had only three castes.

Native aborigines called Shudras were not a caste at all. 'These aborigine Shudras were civilized by foreign Aryans" Image
Vivekananda-"Bengalis and Irish are only good at talking and bandying words. They make grandiloquent speeches. They are nowhere when real, practiccal job is required.

They are only barking at each and fighting amongst themselves Image

1) In 2016,a Mosque was partly demolished for road widening and it revealed a structure underneath. People shared it widely across social media as a temple buried under mosque.
@AltNews came up with an article rubbishing these claims as fake.Let me verify

altnews.in/temple-discove… ImageImageImage
2) In this thread, I shall verfiy Altnews’ claims. AltNews claims to have contacted District Magistrate and quoted his words ad verbatim. Assuming this to be true, I shall conduct with a historical examination
3)Magistrate says these are Muslim carvings and constructions.Mosques have such carvings and it cannot be a non muslim structure on the basis of one pillar.

Is it really so?

The Magistrate is factually incorrect on many accounts. It is NOT one pillar but there are eight pillars Image
