But why’s it that most IPOBians on social media are usually faceless people? 🤔👀
Freedom fighting is one thing, terrorism and rabble rousing are another.
I’ve never been a fan of MNK’s approach to “freedom for Biafrans”, but even though One Nigeria, as it were, doesn’t seem to be working for all, there are subtler ways of getting what you want. (NB to Nigerians: An Obi presidency is NOT one of such.)
In peace and conflict resolution, there should always be room for negotiations and concessions, else an outright call to confrontation.
It is foolhardy and kamikaze to start or engage in a war you possibly cannot win (alone). War requires preparation, logistics, alliances, and tact, and with more odds stacked against you, you cannot afford to rely on sheer brute force and faux bravado.
Yes, to a large extent, the Igbos are economically and sociopolitically disadvantaged, due to the lopsided, non-progressive structure of the Nigerian system that tends to favor a particular region / set of tribes and individuals.
But trust me, if the country were working properly, there’d be little to no separatist agitations as we have it rn. These agitations stem primarily from want of RESOURCE CONTROL, and for Nigeria, restructuring that lopsided structure is the first step, no matter whodunnit.
For the likes of Simon Ekpa and his e-minions who believe they’re more Biafran than the average Igbo, you guys seriously need to understand that the older generation who experienced the Civil War are and will never be in support of this your approach to our so-called freedom.
Remember, no sovereign nation will treat acts of terroristic separatism with kid gloves. None!
Taking sovereignty from a country in recent times is a different ball game. If you think violence/war is the only answer, how ready are you for its consequences? Apparently, zilch.
The late Biafran Supreme Leader Ojukwu, no doubt, by participating in a Nigerian election wanted a total reintegration of the Igbos into the country. I believe if he were still alive today, he’d be 💯 #OBIdient to achieve this goal: a Nigeria that works for all tribes & tongues.
No person in a position of authority enjoys their authority being undermined by those they lead, and Product Managers are no different. This is one of the issues you get to face by having “superstars” on your dev team.
The PM role is like that of a football team coach, and just as in football, good man management skill is of essence if you must have good results and meet corporate goals/KPIs during the product development process (PDP).
In football, however, it’s easier for the coach to sideline and ultimately transfer out a superstar player whose ego appears to have irreversibly gotten bigger than the team—for instance, the CR7 vs ETH saga in 2022. This is possible cos of squad depth and ‘easy funding’.
Wow just getting to know that the late Major Gen. Philip Effiong (Ojukwu’s 2nd-in-command during the Biafran War, who’d signed the peace treaty with Gowon) was friends with and used to visit my paternal grand-uncle Sir Philip Nkwocha of blessed memory.
Didn’t get to have a much personal experience with Ndaa Philip Uwaezuoke Nkwocha (was quite a kid when he died about 2007), but he had a reputation as an astute academic (one of the pioneers in my community of origin) and Director, Sunray Publications, Port Harcourt.
I fondly remember him for his bald rounded head, áfó beer (potbelly 😂), baritone voice and boisterous, witty humor. As a lover of education, he’d greatly influenced my father (who has always supported his children education-wise). And a bevy of texts columbia.edu/itc/mealac/pri….
On a norms, no Nigerian man would ever wish for his daughter to ‘go wayward’ (i.e. start h0eing around for money and favors from the—older—opposite sex) especially during her teens (and probably early twenties)…
Yet, some of these men are the same that string along these ‘little girls’ with cash and gifts/treats just to bed them and add to their bouquet of ‘female conquests’ a.k.a ‘chicken poultry’.
Mr Man, are you forgetting that that little chick is actually another man’s daughter?
Yes, female hypergamy is a thing here and the age of sexual consent in 🇳🇬 might be 18, but you know most of these girls are not, esp., emotionally, intellectually and financially capable of a mutual, healthy sexual relationship with your thirty and forty something year-old self…
If you ‘help’ someone in the way they don’t want/need to be helped (which you ignorantly or arrogantly assume they do), does it also count as help?
Is there anything like ‘useless help’?🤔
He who wears the shoe knows where it pinches him. If he tells you it hurts at the ankle and you assume (and insist) it hurts at the little toe, you might end up providing cure to the assumed toe pain, while the real pain still remains.
Take for instance your state governor: he knows your community needs electricity, good roads and hospitals, yet he provides ‘help’ in the form of donating wheelbarrows and twined ropes (agba “youth empowerment”😂😭), how useful do you think such a ‘help’ actually is?
Monogamy (sense 1: having only one mate for a lifetime), I believe, is a social construct, and as an offshoot of organized monotheistic religion, another means of exerting control on the human self.
The average human being is characterized by this thing called DESIRE—yunno, human wants are insatiable (Economics 101). For some, this desire could be freedom to explore and do whatever one wants or feels. However, unbridled desire breeds lawlessness, hence the need for laws.
Take for instance, a cute lil baby. On a normal day, if he’s not craving for food or attention, he’s inquisitive and wanna try out new things in his environment. He can put his hand into the fire, deface the TV, eat soap, or even jump into a pool just to satisfy his curiosity.
Bitcoin’s price has been fluctuating between (and slightly below/above) $30,000 and $40,000 for about a month. As a result, many people are wary about investing in cryptocurrencies.
Existing and potential crypto investors have been asking themselves questions like “should I buy or should I sell?”, “how long should I hold?”, and “is the crypto market being manipulated?”
Some of us are feeling the crunch of the crypto meltdown since we didn’t expect
the meteoric rise in crypto assets early this year to come tumbling down so hard, generating agony and panic among many.
Now, let’s take a look at the 2021 crypto boom and crash, and see whether there’s any hope in sight. Meanwhile, have this at the back of your mind that
