In #5GW, a person, situation or thing is painted or dressed in a certain light to make us automatically associate that person as threat or not, friend or foe. It makes a suggestion to us without our realizing it. Our defense is to train our mind to recognize and be aware of it.
One way to spot #5GW is to recognize when we are being emotionally triggered. Asking ourselves some questions... who is trying to trigger our emotions and what is the agenda? Can we pull out just facts for ourselves? Remember, the war is for our mind, to influence our thinking.
A very good way to circumvent #5GW is to use critical thinking skills. Critical thinking takes us out of the emotions that put us into black and white polarized thinking and get us looking at facts, information and data. Then draw our own conclusions and our own decisions.
These are some examples of critical thinking that thwarts narrative warfare and narrative strategies in #5GW. Most of us do this already. Most of us have been practicing discernment and honing critical thinking skills for at least the past three years. 
In #5GW, all sorts of trickery will be used in an attempt to hit us in the feels, our emotions. By stepping back & being the observer, we can disengage our emotions & deal with facts. Some turn emotions off, some stuff them. Once our feelings take over, we lose critical thinking.
As we are finding out, the biggest emotion that is being hot-buttoned is fear. The most concerning news stories may be mostly false flags, but they are still pushing people into polarized thinking which creates adversarial groups and that is what does the real damage. #5GW
