Last day of #gally1 kicking off with Ascension of the Cybermen commentary featuring Cybermen Patrick O'Kane, Mickey Lewis, Simon Carew and Richard Price!
"I must just have a horrible face. I'm SO typecast... and I love it!" Mickey Lewis on playing monsters. #gally1
The Nightmare in Silver Cybermen design was intended to be quite sleek, whereas the RTD ones are very heavy and they had to stomp. They tried to bring the stomp back with the Cyber Warriors but the costumes didn't work with it. #gally1
"You always start with your left?"
"Left foot forward always. We're good soldiers." On Cybermen choreograpghy
There's always talcum powder in the Cybermen gloves to make them easier to put on. "You're literally like making a cake with your fingers" as the sweat builds up. #gally1
"People think it's horrendous to have the face nailed on, but I quite liked it." Mickey Lewis
"I think the word zealot is key to it. In fact in the first script he didn't have a name, it was just Cyber Zealot." For a while O'Kane says it was also abbreviated to C-Zel.
"I was quite surprised when it was changed to Ashad." #gally1
"Just walking up those steps was quite a challenge." O'Kane on his dramatic entrance
"It was the cybercamp. Things weren't happy in the cybercamp... it wasn't really a pleasant working environment for us." Mickey Lewis says Ascension was not one of his better experiences as a Cyberman. #gally1
"As far as Ashad is concerned, this could be a surrogate son." When menacing the kid. O'Kane describes him as almost evangelical and focused on equality in his own way.
"Not so much cyberbullying as cyberbitching going on. Daggers in your back!" Mickey Lewis on Ascension. He says Sea Devils and Power were much more positive #gally1
"The best Cybermen costume so far" says Mickey Lewis on the cyber warriors
"I was a Nazi officer, that was wonderful." Mickey Lewis on non-monster villain roles in Who #gally1
"The cyber-thong" is how the actors describe the crotch piece of the costume
The actors praise how beautiful the cybermasters are. "Ray put his heart and soul into that" but they don't think the detail fully came across onscreen. #gally1
"What I loved about the Sea Devil was you didn't have to be in sync. You could show a little bit more personality" says Mickey Lewis. He calls the costume "another one of Ray's triumphs" #gally1
Bradley Walsh looked out for the Cybermen actors and checked their necks were okay and provided support when they had to lie still a long time filming The Timeless Children.
The monster actors are all sad they didn't get to recreate the image of the Sea Devils coming out of the sea for Legend #gally1
(Hope I've attributed the quotes all correctly. Not voices I'm very familiar with! And Mickey is the only one whose face I could see where I was sat)
Patrick O'Kane's eye was genuinely bloodshot for the close up... ironically because of issues the contact lens designed to fake it being bloodshot. #gally1

"Because no one else will."
