#kagehina as dads, ft one of Sino's adorable kghn kids

"Hello?"

"Hey. It's raining, d'you need me to bring you an umbrella?"

"Awww Yama, you're worried about me?"

"...Never mind, catch a cold and die."

"Wait, wait!" Shoyo cackled. "Don't hang up!"
Tobio wasn't *actually* going to hang up. But Shoyo already knew that, so he only dignified him with a grunt as a response.

"I remembered an umbrella today, don't worry!"

"Wasn't worried. Just thought your dumb ass forgot to check the weather."

"Uh-huh. Love you too, Tobi~"
"Yeah, yeah. Love you. When will you be coming home?"

"Maybe 30 minutes? Practice just ended."

"'Kay. See you."

"Bye, Tobi!"

"Papa?"

Tobio looked up from his phone to see their eldest daughter peering into the living room from the hallway. "Lili? What's wrong?"
She opened her mouth to answer, when a loud clap of thunder made her wince and clam up.

"...Ah. Is it the storm?"

She glowered at the implication that she was scared...and gave a little nod. Tobio pressed his lips thin against a smile. "Come here, sweetheart."
Her glower softened into a pout as she shuffled over to the couch, crawling onto his lap and leaning into his open arms. "You need to go to sleep," he murmured into her pink bonnet. "You've got school tomorrow."

"But I'm scared," she mumbled against his shirt. "Where's Papi?"
"He'll be home soon. Do you want me to help?"

"Yeah..."

"What should we do?"

"I dunno...I don't wanna be alone."

"Will it help if Papa tucks you in again?"

"...Okay."
Tobio hadn't suggested that with the expectation of going to be bed, as well. But when he tucked Lili in and began to step away, he was stopped by little fingers around his wrist. A single look at her wide eyes told him what she wanted.
She always knew exactly how to make Tobio melt. How could he not? Lili had stepped up to being a big sister so well when they had welcomed Luka to the family, but she was only four. As far as Tobio was concerned, she was still his baby.
And so, when Shoyo came home, he only found his husband after searching around the house.

He was curled up next to Lili, holding their daughter tight to his chest, and fast asleep. Shoyo felt like his heart might burst out of his chest as he quietly crouched next to the bed.
"Hey," he whispered, running his fingers through Tobio's hair. His husband unconsciously leaned into his touch, but he didn't wake up until Shoyo pressed a kiss to his cheek.

"Mm...Sho?"

"Hey, sleepyhead."
Shoyo could see the moment Tobio fully woke up, his head snapping up from the pillow without jostling Lili. "...Shit."

"Did she get scared by the storm?"

"Mm...she came asking for you," Tobio sighed, letting his head fall back to the pillow. "So I asked her what I could do."
"Did she say that I get into bed with her?"

Tobio's brows furrowed, but Shoyo didn't bother hiding his small smile. "No...but she wouldn't let me go until I did."

"Wow," Shoyo sighed, bracing his elbow on the bed as he rested his chin in his hand. "She really is my daughter."
"Hah? She's *our* daughter, dumbass."

"Sure, but she doesn't know how to play *me* like a fiddle," Shoyo snickered. "She's learned well from me."

He watched the indignant annoyance on Tobio's face fade into resignation. "...Oh my god."
He looked so betrayed, but without an ounce of anger. Shoyo couldn't help pressing a kiss to his cheek. Then another kiss. Then a kiss to his lips. "...Oi, stop it."

"Nope! You're too cute, Tobi! How can I resist?"

"I'm not cute," he grumbled, "just an idiot."
"Sure, but you're my idiot. My big, adorable idiot."

"I hate you so much."

"Shhhh, language. Before you know it, Lili's gonna use that on you."

"Uh-huh."

Shoyo snorted as he got to his feet, only to be stopped by long, calloused fingers at his wrist. "What?"
"You're not going anywhere."

"Huh?"

That was all he could say before he was gently tugged towards the bed, forcing him to brace his knee at the edge. "C'mere."

"What about Luka?"

"Already asleep."

Shoyo's lips twisted in protest, but he couldn't think of anything to say.
And besides, any reluctance he felt was sapped away the longer he looked at his husband and daughter snuggled together in her tiny bed. There was just enough space for Shoyo to fit himself at Tobio's side.
A strong arm at his waist and their legs getting tangled together kept him from feeling like he'd fall off the bed, but he still pressed as close as possible, tucking his cold nose into the curve of Tobio's neck and smiling at the soft grunt of protest he earned.
"Thirty minutes," he mumbled into warm skin, "and then you're making me dinner."

"Yes, sir," he heard sighed into his hair. And so, with a grin and a brushed kiss, Shoyo let himself drift to sleep.

#kagehina, masquerade ball, inspired by the Starless Sea

Normally Tobio hates balls. Where others see them as a chance to meet new people, make new friends, seduce new lovers, he’s always seen them as a reminder of how lonely he truly is.
This ball is both better and worse than most. It’s unlike any ball he’s been to before—everyone is dressed in black or white, with only splashes of color allowed in their jewelry or detailing. And they’re all anonymous, hidden behind beautiful, elaborate masks over their eyes.
But strangest of all is the gold.

At the entrance of the ballroom and around the edges sit bowls of golden paint, with the simple written instruction for the partygoers to dip their hands in.

#bokuaka sick fic, bokuto is a good bf 🥹

Keiji notices the vague ache in the back of his sinuses Friday morning. “No…no no no,” he chants under his breath, shoving some oranges and a packet of vitamin c immunity booster powder into his bag on his way out.

They don’t work.
Now it’s Saturday morning, and he’s slumped on his couch, shivering under a blanket and squinting at his work email through a stubborn headache.

He thought he was lucky, that he’d be able to keep chasing off being sick every time his nose of throat ached. How wrong he was.
He’s mid-sip of tea when his phone rings. A single glance at caller id makes guilt prick at him. “…Hello?”

“Keiji!! Are you sick?! What happened?!”

“Ah, Ko…wait, how do you know I’m sick?”

“Udai-san told me!”

#kagehina as dads 3, tokyo drift (now with Davi!! 💖)

//

Tobio screwed his eyes shut tight against the headache looming like a threatening raincloud over his mind. "So...let me get this straight."
"Akechi took Davi's soft volleyball during lunch and wouldn't give it back, Luka heard Davi yelling and went to make Akechi give the ball back, but Akechi pushed *both* of you, and that's when Lili...got involved?"

"I pushed him!"

"...Right. Pushed him."
Tobio finally opened his eyes to look at his kids, all in a row on the couch like battered ducklings. Davi's scowling face was swollen from tears, Luka's hands and elbows were bandaged, and Lili's knees were scuffed from diving after the bully and wrestling the ball from him.

#kagehina as dads, ft the second of Sino's delightful kghn kids

One of Shoyo's favorite pieces of advice that he received as a new father regarded the importance of talking with one's child to accelerate their language development.
Or something like that. He was just happy to have a comeback whenever Tobio asked why he had one-sided conversations with Lili before she could even say "Papa."

Now those questions were replaced with a bemused gaze that was easy to ignore while he chatted with Luka.
"What do you think, Lukinho?" he hummed as he stared into the fridge, bouncing the 1-year-old on his hip. "Will Papa and Lili want chicken or salmon?"

"Apa!"

"My thoughts exactly." He slid a container of marinated salmon leftovers from the fridge to the counter.

#kagehina, inspo’d by Those World Cup photos

It happens every World Cup: photos of the football teams celebrating their wins go viral as everyone gushes over how “fruity” they are.

It’s only a matter of time before they turn their eyes to other sports…including volleyball.
Japan’s national team don’t care about the photos that go around. Bokuto still picks a disgruntled Yaku up for a bear hug. Miya still jumps on Ojiro’s back and plants a playful kiss to his temple while rubbing his short-cropped hair. Even Ushijima and Sakusa indulge in long hugs.
The only member who doesn’t get “caught” being extra affectionate is Kageyama. He celebrates, of course he does, but he’s never photographed doing anything more than a sturdy hug, a painful-looking high five, or accepting a ruffle to his hair.

Then Hinata joins the team.

#kagehina, fluff, mild hurt/comfort

"Hey, Hinata, where're you going?"

"Saving Kageyama's class from him," Shoyo snorted. "They had a math test, so he's gonna be suuuper grumpy now."

He'd no sooner grabbed his bento box when he heard a terse, "Hinata," from the classroom door.
Sure enough, there was Tobio, peeking in with an uncertainty that was unnerving coming from him.

"Oh, hey! I was just coming to your class!" With one more grin to his classmates, Shoyo hurried over to Tobio's side, peering intently at his familiar features.
His blue eyes were downcast, and his fingers fidgeted around his bento's scarf. "Uh...hey."

"Do you wanna talk about it, or do you want a distraction?"

"A distraction."

Shoyo wasn't surprised. The only times Tobio wanted to talk about it were *after* a distraction anyway.
