The idea that the fascist Russian regime should not be crushed is as rational and moral as arguing that we shouldn’t have completely defeated Nazi Germany. Russia will remain a perpetual problem this way.
There’s no real protection of the free world w/o completely defeating &dismantling RU. The goal shouldn’t be avoiding taking the war to RU soil, but doing it so swiftly that Moscow won’t even know what hit it so it can’t try to shield itself from long overdue consequences of war.
This idea of the free world defending against Russia for years and decades to come ignores the growing #AxisOfEvil with Russia, China, and other evil rogue regimes eagerly preparing to detonate the liberal, western-led intl security order. We will be battling a Coalition of Evil.
It’s morally depraved to say that regime change is an objective we ought not pursue. It is undermining & self-defeating to pretend we shouldn’t completely defeat Russia to save Ukraine & the entire free world. The idea that a weakened and contained RU is manageable is irrational.
I am sick of the moral bankruptcy, the cowardice, And corruption which guides terrible decision making and policy in dealing with Russia. This is so much worse than 1938. We are in an alternative reality where WW2 didn’t end, but continued for years & we pursued Nazi containment.
We are in the place where after NINE years of war, we say, “Hitler may be building a coalition with equally evil regimes, and they are helping each other militarily, but it is enough for Poland to have some sovereignty and nationhood.” THAT is our insane place today.
“Dominant view” means nothing other than the majority agreed on cowardly limits set by the bullies of the group. Doesn’t mean “immutable”. Our leaders are going to destroy us with their immorality and cowardice. We cannot stand idly by. We must DEMAND our security.
It is also selfish and plain stupid not to defeat Russia into oblivion. It is selfish beyond pale to make Ukraine bear the entire brunt of the Kremlin’s death and destruction in an attempt to weaken Russia for western security. We must not USE Ukraine as a buffer against evil.
It’s plain stupid bc if Russia isn’t crushed totally and completely, the threat will not only be of the Kremlin, but the entire growing #AxisOfEvil - a consortium of regimes with no moral lows, champing at the bit to exact “revenge” at the West for perceived historical wrongs.

If you think Russian literature is the epitome of high culture and intellectualism, consider that you may have low standards...
Ukrainians are regularly told that they should keep this "brilliant" "high culture" as part of their cultural canon. Several generations of Ukrainians were forced to study the Pushkin, Dostoevsky, Tosltoy. They know what it's all about, and don't agree.
"Bias! Just bias!" No. They know the mythical "greatness" of these works is just that - mythical - because they were forced to study them. These are the same people who wow American officials with "incredibly impressive" "innovation".
Today in Moscow, China & Russia "expressed their willingness to jointly practice genuine multilateralism, oppose all forms of unilateral bullying, & promote the democratization of international relations & the multipolarization of the world."
Anti-western policy on full display
The agreement to make more efforts to “improve global governance,” is a clear reference to Moscow and Beijing's shared goal to subvert the liberal, western-led int'l security order, and reshape world order with their evil regimes at the helm.
There is a profound sense of urgency here. We MUST defeat Russia with Ukraine. The entire world security order is at stake. We can live in relative peace and stability, or a world of might makes right, fascism, genocide, and oppression. Take your pick.
Russia dismantles statues of important historic, political, and cultural Ukrainian figures; tosses and burns Ukrainian texts; loots and bombs galleries, museums, and various cultural institutions. Where are all the articles on Russia's culturecide in Ukraine in western media?
After the barrage of "why Ukrainians shouldn't 'cancel' Russian culture" articles in media and social media posts, you'd think there would be an avalanche of articles on the topic of Russia's continued culturecide and linguicide of Ukrainian culture and language. But no.
Even the pieces which touch on the topic still wag a disapproving figure after expressing sentiment of understanding that Ukrainians are angry. "It doesn't mean Ukrainians shouldn't read Pushkin/Tolstoy/Dostoevsky/etc. again."
This is the medal the Russian Ministry of Defence issued for "returning" (i.e. invading and illegally annexing) Crimea.
Note the date: February 20, 2014
THIS is the date of the Russian military invasion of Ukraine. Nine years ago today.
Among a great many things, this is clear proof that Russia did not attack Ukraine because "Ukrainian Nazis ousted president Yanukovych in an illegal coup d'état".
Yanukovych *abandoned* his post (he was not ousted) TWO days later on February 22, 2014.
And never forget that Russia didn't just spring from nowhere and illegal annex the Ukrainian peninsula. Feb 20, 2014 is the date of execution. Russia's war of aggression was planned well in advance. They capitalized on the revolution to strike when UAwas in a weakened state.
“China supports Iran in safeguarding national sovereignty” and “resisting unilateralism and bullying,” and promises to “work together on issues involving each other’s core interests,”
- Xi Jinping during Iranian President Raisi's visit to China
In a joint statement China & Iran agreed to accelerate bilateral cooperation plans, and join in various multilateral frameworks. They agreed on cooperation between their militaries at all levels & in various fields, & to expand the scale of joint exercises & personnel training.
Iran joining BRICS is on the table as well.
It is critical to note that China & Iran are de facto parties to Russia's illegal and genocidal war of extermination against the Ukrainian nation and people.
All three share the common goal of undermining liberal international order.
NATO's intervention in Ukraine would be absolutely legitimate and lawful:
- As a permanent member of the UNSC, Russia is unlawfully preventing any effective action of the Security Council under the UN Charter to restore peace in Ukraine and prevent further humanitarian crisis.
- On March 2, 2022, the United Nations General Assembly, in a vote with overwhelming support, recognized Russia's war as unlawful and demanded that Moscow immediately completely and unconditionally withdraw all of its military forces from Ukraine.
