1/ #TellMeColPande I am writing since last seven years that keeping Kashmir Insurgency ALIVE is the combined effort of everyone connected to it. Terrorists, Informers, Over Ground Workers, Politicians, State and Central Govt employees, Bureaucracy, Intelligence and Military.
2/ None wanted it to finish and hence each kept it alive. Remember I wrote the same day it was announced that abrogation of Article 370 has BROKEN THE BACK OF #CounterInsurgencyIndustry Here we are today!!!! Army had no business to be in Kashmir Insurgency since turn of century.
3/ Bureaucrats created a ‘Revenue Heaven’, everything had a cost. Even their being “posted” to Insurgency area cost Government a bomb. Bureaucrats wrote policies, they decided own allowances, added perks, they added massive costs for their ‘responsibility’ to finish insurgency.
4/ Counter Insurgency Industry #CounterInsurgencyIndustry was like a big brutal Piccadilly Street Play, beautifully choreographed with one difference. It was real. Congress kept it alive at Centre. The ‘family’ kept it alive in valley. The other cast was quick to encash. #VoICE
5/ Everyone helped politicians to keep it alive. Ask BJP stalwarts who were mature and senior politicians in 1999-2000 era, if Police, Military or Intelligence officers ever told them in private that with one stroke back of insurgency could be broken. ABROGATE ART 370. None did.
6/ Either they all were too dumb or were too clever. Ending insurgency did not go down well with their ambitious desires to ‘get’ what they wanted. Could be Rank, Award, Courses, Bribes, Cuts in civil work, allowances etc. just get intelligence summaries of any one year,from each
7/ agency and carry out week by week comparison! Results will shock you. @PMOIndia was the only office that could take measures. It did in style. In one stroke it broke the back of Insurgency. ASK ME ANY QUESTION. Just use #TellMeColPande in your tweet.
