In the original #lastofus Tommy and his wife, Maria, were both White with blond hair. In #TheLastOfUsHBO Tommy is a Mexican and Maria is a Black woman who calls their community in Jackson, WY a communist commune.
Jackson is a fictional town, but Wyoming is very real, very conservative and very White. (Even more so in 2003, when the outbreak happened in the show)
While people in Wyoming are probably not outwardly "racist," they likely wouldn't let outsiders in after an apocalypse. Bizarrely, even the show has them extremely unwelcoming to outsiders.
Lastly, it's very unlikely that a state full of conservative White American ranchers would embrace an Israeli Kibbutz model of communism.

The Jewish hatred toward the West long predates Christianity as do the basic principles of civilizational entropy and decline.
Rome declined because it opened its upper echelons to outsiders and over extended itself. Perhaps aspects of Christian Universalism assisted in this, but those same aspects certainly didn't hinder the Renaissance and subsequent colonialist expansion.
I would prefer that our people focused more on our ancestral patriarchs rather than Levantine stories and myths, but "neo-pagans" have a tendency to ignore the deeper more innate trends and dispositions in our people.

Not only are these initials for Ana DeWitt, i.e. Elizabeth, but it's also "anno domini." (The year of our Lord) While probably obvious to some, it shows how Ken Levine went to great lengths to achieve his desired symbolism.
He named the "protagonist" Booker 'DeWitt', so that he could name the daughter 'Ana DeWitt', so that Booker's hand would read "AD." For me that really highlights just how important is was for him to signal "anno domini" in a strange pejorative context.
But then again...as a Dutch friend just highlighted to me "DeWitt" actually means "the White, or the Blond." A curious surname, since DeWitt turns out to be the villain Comstock.

Honestly, this highlights one mechanic whereby devs can get away with female overrepresentation.

Muh titties and butts.

Devs hijack the male sex drive to push the overton window.
The anti-SJW backlash from gamers is largely due to SJWs and feminists moving to take away "muh titties."
The feminists (spiteful mutants) are trying to lower male expectations and increase mating opportunities. The men are just cooming.

I really need to make a condensed version of the Visigoth series. There are many smaller points that need to be made, explored but often get lost in the details. 1/4
E.g. Regarding when Chindasuinth implemented his pro-Jewish policies, Jewish historian Solomon Katz himself says many exiled Jews must've returned to the kingdom. 2/4
Thus, Katz himself admits (deductively) that Jewish exploitation of gentiles in Spain had yielded so much profit that the renewed prospect of it overrode all other concerns. 3/4
