The Georgian myth: "#Abkhazians are Georgians"
We, the #Abkhaz are the autochthonous people of Abkhazia.
We belong to the Abkhaz-Adyghe group, along with Circassians,Abaza and Adygs.

We speak the #Abkhazian language, which is part of the Abkhaz-Adyghe language group of the North #Caucasian language family.
The Georgian
language belongs to the Kartvelian group of languages.

If an Abkhaz and a Georgian address each other in their own languages, they will not understand each other.
Denying or ignoring our identity contradicts historical facts and apparently comes from the imperialist tradition of Georgia.

We think it is unjust to devalue Abkhaz identity, history, traditions of statehood and our strife for freedom.
Linguistically and ethnically
Russians and Ukrainians are
much closer than the Abkhaz and Georgians.

However, calling Russians and Ukrainians one nation means disrespect for the Ukrainians, their culture, language and independent statehood. The denial of anyone's identity and rights always leads to conflicts.

Back in 1900, K. Machavariani wrote that the Georgians set the goal of changing the #Abkhaz last names in their own way, giving them Georgian endings.

Thus, #Abkhazian surnames with such endings as -ua, -ia, -va (for example,
Japua, Bigvava, Kvitsinia) are mistakenly attributed to Georgian origin.

K. Lomtatidze, the Georgian philologist-
kavkazologist, the first Georgian woman to become a doctor of lingusitics, in an article published in 1943 mentions the #Abkhaz word "aуаҩы", meaning "man". She agues that it is the origin of the suffixes -ua / va, aa.

Based on the dialect data of the #Abkhaz-Abaza languages, it establishes that the first part of the word "aуаҩы" -aua- is an independent element with the meaning of "man, child, son".

This is revealed in the formation of the plural form of the word "people" - "ayaa",where the second root is cut off and replaced by the multiplicity indicator -aa.The formant -ua is also involved in the formation of Abkhaz words denoting ethnicity(for example, Apsua-The Abkhaz)

First of all, the UNHCR report states that the number of refugees is approximately 253,392.
According to the official
census of Abkhazia of 1989, the Georgian population of Abkhazia (including
Svans and Mingrelians ) was no more
than 230,000 people in total.

It is estimated that more than 50.000 people have already returned to their homes in the Gal district of Abkhazia, which is a noticeable result in comparison to many other international cases.

However, Georgia continues to regard the returnees as internally displaced persons, and does not allow UNHCR to register them officially as returnees.
The refugee issue is
used by Georgian propaganda to gain as much international support as possible.

Georgian myth: "Abkhazia is occupied by Russia"

In 2008, a bilateral strategic partnership agreement was signed between #Abkhazia and Russia, that assumed the deployment of Russian military bases on the territory of #Abkhazia,
