Underlying a lot of sanghi hate against the Seattle ordinance is the baseline inquisitional justice they take for granted. The seem to think this means you just accuse someone of caste discrimination and then get a big check the next day and the accused goes to jail instantly.

So many Indian friends in 2022 reached out with "Hope you're safe! Heard about deadly crime wave in NYC."
And if I tried to explain, nah, that's mostly made up for the elections and if you look at the data etc etc... Their eyes glaze over. And they send me podcasts or forwards.

They don't want me to correct their easy misconceptions.

And even if I try, they will try to Whatsappsplain or Podcastsplain my own city to me! Yes yes I get it, you have long boring commutes & listen to many podcasts. But my life is kinda first hand for me. 🤷🏽
