More ersatz Saudi tourism stuff. They had me at "20 Empire State Buildings" how many Scaramucci's does it take to see it all? Can I pay in Trump Trading Cards?
As an outsider I would be impressed with the ability to travel and survive in the desert. I am not sure how much suntanning I would do. "The Red Sea Project is “the world's most ambitious and exciting tourism and hospitality project": redseaglobal.com/en
I bet the "Rapid Intervention Force Paint Ball Park" is a hoot. nytimes.com/2021/02/26/us/…
NEOM. It's what everyone is talking about. Aren't they?

A far more realistic estimate of Prigozhin’s foreign income. Does not include his Concord contracts. ft.com/content/98e478…
Another realistic assessment of Mr Pototo Head's operations from 2020. Utkin has disappeared and the GRU has taken over management. The media prefers the more dramatic but false narrative of one BILLION dollars funding Eugene's private war in Donbass. congress.gov/116/meeting/ho… Image
Gene, Gene, the Killing Machine is now using viral posts stacks of dead Rambo prisoners and unfilled ammo requisitions to whine abut the actual Russian military and using social media to logistics shame Putin's Generals. It works. reuters.com/article/ukrain….

I'm kinda of a less is more guy. I stopped counting countries at 125 but there are bunch I haven't seen. I have never been to Scotland or Portugal but I have been to Bougainville and Chechnya. I am saving the boring ones for later. carryology.com/bags/bag-revie… Image
The only place I have ever had all my luggage stolen was at the Vatican. And it's an incredibly liberating feeling to travel with nothing. Don't bring too much stuff. I had to retire my Colombian Commando pack after a couple of decades. A gear snob called it a kids school pack. Image

Historically it takes Russia 6 - 10 years to realize they have lost. Takes us ten to twenty years. responsiblestatecraft.org/2023/02/20/rus…
Long unproductive wars are not unusual. Lately they are branded as something else. Our war in Ukraine is going to take a long time. Our war against Russia even longer. washingtonpost.com/news/worldview…
The list of American wars is always fascinating. From Barbary pirates to the Philippines to Grenada. Each one leaves a cultural imprint. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_w…

There was a window in the 70s' when Afghanistan, Iran, Libya and many other nations embraced western culture. In 1979 that world changed dramatically.
Afghanistan was full of hippies from Europe. Western culture was ascendent. However nothing really changed in the countryside. boredpanda.com/afghanistan-19…
In addition to Afghanistan, Iran was also easy to visit and part of the "Ant Trail" or Hippie Trail. Drugs were involved. You could fly direct from New York to Tehran.

imagine a company built on your work product, selling you nothing, providing you nothing, guaranteeing you nothing but still making billions. techcrunch.com/2023/02/19/met…
