I talk to young Nigerians very often, Nigerians in the 18-30 bracket.
I engage them in everything: academics, career, religion, discipline, manners, etiquette, politics, relationships, etc.

There's one thing is CONSTANT among them all:
THEY ARE ANGRY!
And very BITTER too...
Now, why are they so ANGRY & BITTER?
The answer is interesting: they are angry at how Nigeria is run, how those in government seem to be out to frustrate them with their policies.
They somehow believe we have wicked people in government who simply steal "awa oyel money"...
They are ANGRY at my generation, they blame us for the state of the Country today.
"Uncle Harry, your generation enjoyed Nigeria! You had FREE education & FREE healthcare! You had FREE lunch in school, you had FREE books, you had FREE..."

Ah!
I got it!
The constant word:
FREE!
I ask them what do they really want?
How would they want the Country to be run that would make them feel better?
What are the leaders & politicians not doing right, in their opinion?
If they were in Government, what changes would they bring?

Their responses summed it up:
They just want things to be given to them for FREE!
They don't want to WORK.
They want to enjoy minimum input, maximum output.
They want to HAMMER.
They want to be the next Dangote & Otedola.
They want to be Influencers & Celebrities.
They just want to live large like E-Money...
I once told a story about a guy who just finished NYSC: he told his uncle he's looking for a job.
Uncle asked, "what kinda job do you want?"
His response? "I need a job in an organization where they don't do much, BUT THEY PAY VERY WELL!"

That's the mindset of the average youth:
Minimum effort, maximum profit!
When I try talk to them that life doesn't work that way, they get ANGRIER!
And they give examples of people who "hammered" in other Countries because they have "conducive environment".
Ok...

I can't seem to reach these folks to reason with them!
One other thing they mouth so often is, "BAD GOVERNANCE".
Have you ever tried to engage any of these young folks what their idea of "GOOD GOVERNANCE" is?
You'll almost cry when they start talking!
They have absolutely NO IDEA what it is, yet they are very opinionated on it.
Now, here's the thing:
These folks carry their anger around.
They lash around at everything & anything: I'm sure folks my age would see this play out often.
These young folks are our kids, our friends' kids, our nephews & nieces...
Even our Pastors' kids are not exempted!
These youths needed an opportunity for expression.
They're like a Coke bottle shaken: the gas has been released, but has no escape route: the bottle needs to be opened for the content to spill out!

Now, Politicians see this & take advantage of it!
Sowore tried to in 2000...
He tried to bring the END SARS Mob under his #RevolutionNow Movement.
He didn't succeed: he probably didn't have the charisma to lead the mob.
And he was probably too controversial: they needed someone more acceptable, someone who is better respected & has more pedigree...
2 years later, they found him!
Yaaaay!

The MESSIAH has landed!
They all went into a frenzy!

They threw LOGIC to the wind, they threw REASON overboard: they have found the man who will deliver them from the Old Order & give them the freebies they've always wanted!

Yaaaay!
Common Sense is jettisoned.
Hysteria takes over!

You bring up FACTS & FIGURES to make them understand this Messiah is not who they think he is.
They respond with curses & insults: how DARE you paint our Messiah laidat?
Suffer no dey tire you?

Now, The Messiah is a Marketer...
He studied Market to Market Management at Harvard, remember?
So he goes about, marketing himself to the people, saying what they want to hear.
He went to Harvard in the US to speak, went to Egypt to "learn" about Power Generation, goes around Churches to hoodwink Christians...
He sleeps at the airport for photo ops (with GRV, I might add!), he visits media houses to talk about how bad Nigeria is, but never proffers solutions.

He says stuff like:
"If the money spent on estacodes for our civil servants was invested in the textile industry..."
Or, "if the money we spend on subsidy was invested in healthcare..."
And people are carried away!

The irony is, this guy was a Governor for 8 years: we KNOW what he did.
Today, his state is not any better than any other one, using ANY indices of development to measure...
But these folks are NOT concerned: they just want the Old Order out by any means!
They are not open to civil debates & intelligent discussions: you try to engage them, they insult you!

But I can guarantee you one thing: when The MESSIAH fails on Saturday, they will leave him...
And they will start looking for another MESSIAH.

Hopefully by then, Sowore would have matured & would be more acceptable to them.

He will probably take over the Mantle to lead the MOB at the 2031 elections, after ASIWAJU's 8 year in office.
We wait!

God bless Nigeria 🇳🇬...

This is no more POLITICS or DEMOCRACY, folks...
This is TERRORISM!

Wishing & hoping a plane crashes because ONE PASSENGER supports a Candidate you don't like has gone beyond politicking and banter.
This is outright WICKEDNESS!

These guys are not HUMAN anymore:
They're ZOMBIES!
Even the Human Rights Lawyer wants to bully those who support other Candidates.
The sad part is, HE JUSTIFIED IT.
"If the consequences of your choice impacts me negatively, I have the right to question your choice", he submitted.

How does this make ANY sense to any LAWYER?
Where do you draw the line?
I can as well say, "the consequences of @yinkanubi's choice to support Arsenal affects me negatively..."
Or "the consequences of @GbengaWemimo's choice to always wear Jeans & T-shirts affect me negatively"
So, I have the right to question their choice!

Oloye Akin Alabi is a member of the Federal House of Representatives.
Here, he's holding a meeting with his Ward.
Other members of the House of Representatives hold such meetings too.
So do Senators, Ministers and other political appointees.
They engage with their people often...
They do Development Projects in their communities.
I was in Lagos a few weeks ago & I was pleasantly surprised to see how @femigbaja has tarred practically all the roads in Surulere!

Each State has a House of Assembly: members do such Development Projects too.
And LG Chairmen...
So, Political Parties have Politicians in Office who engage with the electorate at the ward level.
So when election approaches, the electorate help them campaign (a lot of them are card carrying members of the party) and mobilize people to vote for the Politician in office...

November last year, I did a road trip.
I left Abuja, passed through Lokoja, Obajana (where Dangote Cement Factory is located), to Kabba, Owo & Akure.
Spent 2 days in Akure, continued to Ondo, Ore, Ijebu Ode, Epe, Lagos.

4 days later, I went to Abeokuta, returned to Lagos...
After 3 more days in Lagos, I went to Ibadan, drove through the city (not the Express Way), to Oyo, Ogbomosho, Ilorin.
Spent 2 days in Ilorin, continued to Jebba, Mokwa, Bida, Minna and back to Abuja.

The entire trip was 12 days, thereabouts.

That trip gave me an understanding:
Indeed, POLITICS IS LOCAL, as @Mr_JAGs submits.
When I see these online Polls that give victory in the forthcoming election to one Candidate, I just laugh.
I saw his posters & billboards in Abuja & Lagos.
I didn't see any elsewhere!
In Ibadan, apart from the 2 Big Parties...

Some years ago, my friend @praisefowowe wrote an article & he asked, "Your Church has a Children's Church where children are taught the Gospel. Now, imagine these children are also taught by an ISIS terrorist an hour every month for a year (that is 12 lessons a year)...
After a year, what do you think will happen to these children?"

Truth be told, those children would have been brainwashed & be ready to die for what the Terrorist has taught them.
Yet, these kids attend Children's Church every Sunday (52 times a year)!

What does that tell you?
It simply shows we are not DELIBERATE in what we teach our children in Sunday School: we see Sunday School as a place to distract children, to make them busy so they won't disturb the adults in the "real" Church.

But the ISIS Terrorist is DELIBERATE in his teaching...

I am of the opinion that the Christianity we practice in Nigeria is fundamentally FAULTY.
The template out Churches operate is FAULTY.
We think we're practicing Christianity, but in reality, we're just practicing AFRICAN TRADITIONAL RELIGION, spiced with "Jesus" here & there...
We don't STUDY Scripture.
And when we do, we study with a typical African mindset.
Scripture tells us we are FREE, but somehow, our minds (& Pastors, I might add) convince us we have "Enemies" & "Village People" somewhere, plotting our downfall.

And we believe such NONSENSE...
So when we're faced with any adversity, the first thing that come to mind is, "WHO is behind this? WHO is doing this to me?"
We've been wired to believe SOMEBODY somewhere is responsible for our misfortunes, so we always look for who to blame for them.
VICTIM MENTALITY SYNDROME!

There's an issue that has been on my mind for a while: I think it's time I share my thoughts on this platform and get feedbacks from the public:
The question is: WHEN DO PEOPLE MERIT WHAT THEY DESERVE?

Let me explain the question so we can all be on the same page...
When you have an award to give for a service or whatever, do you give it out basically because the recipient MERITS it?
Is MERIT the only criteria you consider or you look at other issues that have absolutely NOTHING to do with the award?

Let me give a few examples...
Let's say I invent a car that runs on water.
Nobody else invents anything that year that beats my invention.
I get nominated for the Nobel Prize in Technology or something like that.
Then I post my opinion on Israel/Palestine issue, on Gay Rights & other controversial issues...
