This professor seems to have taken leave of reality.
He asserts that @ProfAliceS is making misleading statements because there may be homicide victims who are trans but who are never recorded in England & Wales, or reported as trans the media?
Often when we say things we are accused of being "transphobic" by people who say "what business is it if someone has the wrong genitals in a toilet cubicle, hospital ward, changing room etc..."
It is shocking that the CPS applies this same thinking *directly* to sexual consent
The CPS already withdrew its creepy anti-bullying guidance pack for schools developed with Stonewall and Gendered Intelligence, after a legal challenge
I have this old Twitter list called "interesting people" which used to be my go-to list of people saying interesting stuff about public policy and research - bloggers, commentators, public intellectuals, academics, journalists, think tank people etc. Writers, readers, thinkers.
They almost never say anything about sex and gender, or use the word trans. They don't say "trans women are women" or "trans rights are human rights".
They are too smart for that. But they just don't say anything at all.
They never mention Kathleen Stock, or me or JK Rowling.
It cannot be because they haven't noticed the punishment meted out to people who talk about this topic.
The reason they don't mention it is because they *have* noticed.
The Commissioner @Dunja_Mijatovic "had exchanges with journalists, human rights defenders, academics, and other representatives of civil society, including children and young people"
There are some excellent legal responses to the Renton Report by @Livesrunning@Daragh_Murray@edajones16 which encourages universities to view gender-critical people as "contaminating" their institutions.
@akuareindorf points out several errors including the most egregious: Article 9 protects both holding and manifesting belief
