I had a talk with this guy at the Polling Station.
He follows me on Twitter.
He said, "So you're going to vote for BAT! I'm disappointed you're supporting a Muslim/Muslim ticket!"
I told him he shouldn't be disappointed in me: I didn't appoint him in the first place...
He then said, "I am voting for Peter Obi!"
I said, "Ok!"
Him: "Do you know why?"
Me: "I don't care to know, really: it's NOT my business."
Him: "I'll tell you, anyway: I'm voting for him because he's a CHRISTIAN!"
I laughed!
He got ANGRY (do you notice they're ALWAYS angry?)
"Why are you laughing, sir?"
Me: "Your submission made me laugh: Peter Obi a Christian?"
Him: "Yes, he is!"
Me: "When did he become one?"
He had no idea what I meant!
"Ok, let me break it down for you: I became a Christian on the 29th of November, 1987 in Jos..."
Him: "Were you a Muslim before?"
Me: "No."
Him: "What were you?"
Me: "I was what you are right now!"
Him: "I'm a Christian!"
Me: "I'll ask you same question: when did you become one?"
Him: "I was born a Christian!"
Me: "Nobody was born a Christian, bro."
Him: "I was born into a Christian family: my parents are Christians!"
Me: "That you were born in a garage does not make you a car!"
You can't be born a Christian. Christianity is like marriage: you can't be born married!
You go through a PROCESS to become married...
So do you go through a PROCESS to become a CHRISTIAN.
I then told him about my Salvation Experience, how I became s Christian. He had NEVER heard that before!
I think the biggest lie being bandied about this guy is that he is a Christian.
Going to Church doesn't make you one...
But unfortunately, our Pastors have bought into this charade.
Peter Obi is no more a Christian than ASIWAJU BOLA AHMED TINUBU is a Muslim.
I don't pander to religious sentiments when taking political decisions.
I once asked a friend who he'd prefer as President:
Donald Duke or Jolly Nyame.
"Harry, this is a no-brainer: Duke is much better! No be Nyame dem jail for stealing?"
I then told him Duke is a Cross Bearer (Grail Message) but Nyame is a Reverend.
Then I asked again who he'd prefer as President.
He couldn't respond this time!
He had picked Duke over Nyame a few minutes earlier: but when he heard about their religious persuasions, he got confused!
He didn't want to pick Duke again because of his religion: & he didn't want to pick Nyame because he was a convicted thief, despite being a Reverend!
See how religion blinds people?
We are just too religious in this country: in my opinion, religion is our biggest problem.
Followed by tribalism.
People hear my name (Haruna Daniels) & throw 2 questions at me: 1) Are you Christian or Muslim? 2) Where are you from?
My response?
1) I'm an Architect. 2) I'm from Nigeria.
Shikena!
You don't need to know more than that: don't judge me through lenses biased by religion or tribe!
I'm a human being, a Nigerian Architect: that's all you need to know!
May Nigeria be better for us all.
God bless Nigeria 🇳🇬

I had a conversation with my cousin last night.
He's an Architect & a Pastor.
He sent me these forwarded "Prayer Points".
I get this often: people receive stuff & forward to others.
People don't usually critique these things; they don't bother to engage their BRAINS & THINK...
They don't bother to do Due Diligence, try find out if or is true or not: they just forward as received.
That is how rumour spreads: people are not trained or wired to CROSS CHECK things.
So my cousin sent me these "Prayer Points".
I saw them and I laughed!
He asked why...
We had a discussion about that: went from chatting to making a call.
I made him understand that as a PASTOR, you don't pander to the public.
You don't insinuate there a CABAL when you don't have PROOF.
"PROVE ALL THINGS" is Scripture!
"There's no smoke without fire" is not...
These young folks having a talk with ASIWAJU are an example of the average Nigerian youth:
Crude, uncouth, uncivil, mannerless, foolish & ignorant.
They said, "we want GOOD GOVERNANCE!"
Ask them what they mean by that, they have no idea.
They talk about the Lekki Toll Gate...
They asked, "who gave the ORDER?"
They have been brainwashed to believe ASIWAJU, a civilian somehow has the POWER to ORDER the Military to shoot at people (the Military didn't kill anybody at the Toll Gate, anyway, but that is another story)!
They are ALWAYS EMOTIONAL, no sense!
They accused him of all sorts of things, they are incoherent, biased & unnecessarily condescending. I am sure these kids are not more than 20 years of age.
But they have allowed themselves to become pawns in the Power Game.
They have absolutely NO IDEA how Government works...
I talk to young Nigerians very often, Nigerians in the 18-30 bracket.
I engage them in everything: academics, career, religion, discipline, manners, etiquette, politics, relationships, etc.
There's one thing is CONSTANT among them all:
THEY ARE ANGRY!
And very BITTER too...
Now, why are they so ANGRY & BITTER?
The answer is interesting: they are angry at how Nigeria is run, how those in government seem to be out to frustrate them with their policies.
They somehow believe we have wicked people in government who simply steal "awa oyel money"...
They are ANGRY at my generation, they blame us for the state of the Country today.
"Uncle Harry, your generation enjoyed Nigeria! You had FREE education & FREE healthcare! You had FREE lunch in school, you had FREE books, you had FREE..."
This is no more POLITICS or DEMOCRACY, folks...
This is TERRORISM!
Wishing & hoping a plane crashes because ONE PASSENGER supports a Candidate you don't like has gone beyond politicking and banter.
This is outright WICKEDNESS!
These guys are not HUMAN anymore:
They're ZOMBIES!
Even the Human Rights Lawyer wants to bully those who support other Candidates.
The sad part is, HE JUSTIFIED IT.
"If the consequences of your choice impacts me negatively, I have the right to question your choice", he submitted.
How does this make ANY sense to any LAWYER?
Where do you draw the line?
I can as well say, "the consequences of @yinkanubi's choice to support Arsenal affects me negatively..."
Or "the consequences of @GbengaWemimo's choice to always wear Jeans & T-shirts affect me negatively"
So, I have the right to question their choice!
Oloye Akin Alabi is a member of the Federal House of Representatives.
Here, he's holding a meeting with his Ward.
Other members of the House of Representatives hold such meetings too.
So do Senators, Ministers and other political appointees.
They engage with their people often...
They do Development Projects in their communities.
I was in Lagos a few weeks ago & I was pleasantly surprised to see how @femigbaja has tarred practically all the roads in Surulere!
Each State has a House of Assembly: members do such Development Projects too.
And LG Chairmen...
So, Political Parties have Politicians in Office who engage with the electorate at the ward level.
So when election approaches, the electorate help them campaign (a lot of them are card carrying members of the party) and mobilize people to vote for the Politician in office...
November last year, I did a road trip.
I left Abuja, passed through Lokoja, Obajana (where Dangote Cement Factory is located), to Kabba, Owo & Akure.
Spent 2 days in Akure, continued to Ondo, Ore, Ijebu Ode, Epe, Lagos.
4 days later, I went to Abeokuta, returned to Lagos...
After 3 more days in Lagos, I went to Ibadan, drove through the city (not the Express Way), to Oyo, Ogbomosho, Ilorin.
Spent 2 days in Ilorin, continued to Jebba, Mokwa, Bida, Minna and back to Abuja.
The entire trip was 12 days, thereabouts.
That trip gave me an understanding:
Indeed, POLITICS IS LOCAL, as @Mr_JAGs submits.
When I see these online Polls that give victory in the forthcoming election to one Candidate, I just laugh.
I saw his posters & billboards in Abuja & Lagos.
I didn't see any elsewhere!
In Ibadan, apart from the 2 Big Parties...
