🧵🇺🇦 1/ continuing yesterday’s theme of replaying @DefenceU’s greatest hits in this war, here are a few of the most important videos for @DI_Ukraine’s psyops. IMO this was the most important purely military one at the start of the war. A masterpiece.
2/ everybody is rightly replaying King @y_gudymenko (subsequently promoted to Sergeant) video. @olgatokariuk posted it and @peedutuisk translated it. Placing it in thread as the best most menacing “welcome to Ukraine”
3/ When @ZelenskyyUa@Podolyak_M and the other leaders of Ukraine’s government made this video in Kyiv at night at the start of the war, they risked their lives. Russian assassins were hunting them. This killed 🇷🇺 lies Zelenskyy fled #UkraineWillWin
4/ At the start of the war, Turkish “Bayraktar” drones were destroying Russian men and tanks, causing this @DefenceU video to the “Bayraktar Song” to go viral. All of these videos vital to Ukrainian morale
5/ incidentally, at 1:24 in the “Bayraktar” song, maybe the first, sticky description of @MOD_Russia as “orcs”. Most commentators agree Ukrainian psychological operations have been peerless
6/ “They wanted to invade us with force / And we took offence at these orcs / Russian bandits get turned into ghosts [where they are*] / Bayraktar”
*added this because the verse rhymes in Ukrainian :)
7/ Before the horrors of Bucha, a surrendering, starving young Russian POW got hot tea and food from a Ukrainian @DefenceU volunteer; she calls his mom Natasha on camera to say he’s fine and safe. Visible kindness helped 🇺🇦

Thread: 1/ Trump Russia Alaska summit, reasons for optimism: the Telegraph reports @realDonaldTrump will offer Ukraine a NATO style US security guarantee, and Putin accepted this. IF true, a major step towards true, just peace archive.is/A159T
2/ Friends of Ukraine who have spoken to Trump seem encouraged today, including @lisamurkowski who said she was “cautiously encouraged” right after the summit and @Keir_Starmer who said good things this morning “Trump brought us closer to peace”
3/ The summit did not go as well for Russia as reported. As the UK press pointed out, the scheduled lunch was canceled, the six hour window shortened to three, the post negotiation press conference was truncated. Putin refused a ceasefire and imo that is why he was cut off
1/ A free to read archive copy of WSJs profile on the far-right Minnesota psycho. He went to Bible college and was targeting abortion providers. The New York Times piece, next post, has a more chilling detail…
2/ The kill list Vance Boelter had included not only Dem politicians, (and only Dems) but abortion clinics, supporters and abortion doctors, not only in Minnesota but in a neighboring state too. “Doctors, community, business leaders, Planned Parenthood facilities”.
So he was far-right. But EXTREMISM is the problem here.
3/ And while it is often far right lunatics who do this stuff, they’re not always far right - sometimes they are far left, like the second grifter who tried to assassinate Trump on his golf course last year. Extremism itself is the problem. Refuse polarization.
A friend of mine suggested that Boelter had ‘donated to act blue’ - that sounds like social media disinformation, and is not reported anywhere that I have seen. Just because an account says “BREAKING”, and then puts up something that you want to believe, I would suggest that you ask them for a source. Here’s the Times piece (free).
I know it’s the end days of the election, but you should really read this article by @stuartpstevens. I am not kidding when I say it’s one of the best I’ve read in decades. Every single line, bullseye. #Harris. Comfortably. vanityfair.com/news/story/how…
3/ Expanding on this, we now have the early vote data. Atm I am tentatively giving Trump GA. Can't call NV. Trump looks to be ahead in AZ. All other battleground states I give Harris, that's purely on party registrations. HOWEVER, party is not the full story - gender counts too
2/ A few more Ukraine observations I will add to periodically. Russian telegram is full of milbloggers saying #Gerasimov saw the preparations for this incursion and told Putin it was disinformation, then pulled professional soldiers away from the entry point and sent them elsewhere. Ha ha ha.
Putin reportedly furious. I wish I could remember which X user posted “Gerasimov is about to become one of the fastest readers in history - 10 stories a second” 😆
3/ Last month’s reported degradation and isolation of Shoigu, done in typical Russian fashion by arresting multiple of his lieutenants and allies, cheered on by Gerasimov, is now mirrored by Putin’s rage at Valery. But what Kremlin doing?
THREAD 1/,Biggest winners from Prigozhin vs Putin are, in this order, Western intelligence and Ukraine.
As I have often observed here, reluctantly, the USIC doesn’t want Putin removed. Too many poorly secured nukes, and a competent, less weakened and truly ideological… https://t.co/lj7h6CF0uAtwitter.com/i/web/status/1…
2/ Russia’s most effective fighting force, Wagner, is destroyed. Morale is shattered. A pernicious, evil torturer who subverted a US election is exiled and possibly a dead man walking. Score one for Western intelligence and another one for @DefenceU.
3/ Contrary to Vatnik Twitter, USIC do not foment coups in Russia. But there’s nothing stopping, say, Budanov, from feeding intensely damaging misinformation to both Prigohzin and Shoigu camps, welcoming both sides to Juarez. Not saying this happened, but it might have
2/ Harri @Harri_Est, kicked out of @UkraineAidOps, was a “James Vasquez” who LIED about serving in @MoD_Estonia Special Forces, and, far worse, LIED that Estonia, a @NATO country, had a “squad wiped out” by Russia in Ukraine. Despicable #StolenValor
3/ Harri @Harri_Est was using morphine as a druggie on the road, waking Ukrainian babies by partying at one am, drinking and physically assaulting other volunteers when they asked him to stop. All on donor money 🤮. archive.ph/WxiZx 4/
