Today is the 32nd anniversary of the Highway of Death, which was a US-led coalition of air strikes on Highway 80 between Kuwait and Iraq that destroyed thousands of vehicles, and killed hundreds of people, including civilians and children. Bodies were found charred to a crisp.
Here's an excerpt on the "Highway of Death" from former US AG Ramsey Clark's report on the war crimes against Iraq:
There is nothing on the @USDOT's website about the train derailment in Ohio, which is not very reassuring. This disaster would've been suppressed and silenced in the past, but we have the internet now, and people have serious concerns about East Palestine.
If you can't see how profound the DOT's failures have been to the benefit of private corporations because you've been won over by Pete Buttigieg, let me remind you that Obama's Transportation Secretary is currently a shill for Lyft and advocates against basic rights for drivers.
It's obvious that the DOT has been caving to industry pressure across multiple admins and if you don't believe me, go ask the workers and public at large. The GOP is a fascist cult, sure, but if you can't criticize a federal agency because of party identity, you're in a cult too.
A new bill proposed in Montana wants to limit the science curriculum in school and ban scientific theories. This could prevent teachers from doing lessons on evolution theory and cell theory. How can you educate people without teaching them theories?
"More than 20 people testified against Senate Bill 235, concerned that it could keep teachers from including gravitational theory, evolution and cell theory in curriculum." mtpr.org/montana-news/2…
Meet Daniel Emrich, the GOP legislator in Montana who wants to ban scientific theories from the state's curriculum.
Defense contractors literally bribe our politicians in broad daylight, which is how we end up in so many conflicts abroad just so people like Lindsey Graham can get an extra $10,000 for their PAC and most Democrats don't point this out bc they have the same conflict of interest.
America is not a serious country. The establishment exploits wars for a profit so if the only way to help Ukraine is by taking the word of politicians who are bribed by defense contractors, then it's wiser to remain dubious of their real intentions.
I share your compassion for the people of Ukraine, the same way that I feel for the people of Yemen, Palestine, Sudan, etc. who suffer from oppressive regimes, but if US politicians can't even beat fascism at home, then this patriotic fight to "beat" fascism abroad is a heist.
Every single non-violent drug offender should be released from prison and reunited with their families, so while politicians make their Christmas tweets, let it be known that our bipartisan drug policy is to separate families and destroy the lives of drug addicts even further.
How many more holidays are we going to let the private prison industry destroy our communities? Minorities and the working poor are targeted by cops and given harsh sentences for minor drug possessions when we should be helping them. Release every non-violent drug offender ASAP.
It is a major indictment of the Democratic establishment and the mainstream media that there's absolutely no urgency to close the loophole in the 13th amendment while underprivileged people are being locked up and exploited for labor. Release every non-violent drug offender ASAP.
