#QuestionTime This is the famous Liberty Leading the People by Eugene Delacroix. Any idea what's the most famous pigment used in this painting - and what's it's made of? Image
Another one. The Age of Innocence - Joshua Reynolds. What's the dominant pigment and what's it made of? Image
One more. This is Justinian. What's the most interesting pigment here? And how is it made? Image

After the defeat at Dharmat, a second army was forming near Agra to stop Aurangzeb. While Shah Jahan's unclear message tied up the hands of Jaswant Singh and led to the deaths of Mukund Singh Hada and Ratan Singh Rathore, Samurgarh, being fifteen kilometres from Agra was
going to be a make or break for either party. Aurangzeb bypassed Dholpur and crashed towards Agra and Dara was leading the troop in person. Amidst heavy firing, Murad Baksh charged at Chatrasal Hada who was holding the far right.
Incompetence of Dara's command started manifesting from the word go - rather than supporting the Hada, Khalilullah Khan who commanded the royal cavalry refused to support Chatrasal and went on to reinforce Dara's position. That single stupid act costed Dara the battle, the throne

So, we are getting news that Pakistan is desperately trying to become a part of Russia-China axis. But, what it doesn't realize is that, just like it's army, it's presence in the axis is useless. The army just exists to eat money. Same with Pakistan in the axis.
Let's look at this rationally. Nothing comes for free. There is always a give and take. What will Pakistan get, everyone knows. What will Pakistan offer in return?
1. It can offer Kachrachi and Gwadar - access to Arabian Sea. But, Russia has already got Chabahar and Bandar Abbas
2. TAPI. But then without I, TAPI is but a joke. Simple reason is, without India, where will they sell their gas to? Other words, whatever is the economical or geo-political axis built, without India as the market destination, no economic group in the world is going to work.

On a serious note. The problems we have are manifold and no one is actually interested in identifying them, forget sorting them.
1. Street dog menace. For the last few years, I have noticed they started getting into bigger groups and hunting.
They are feral and can't be disciplined like pet dogs. Rules for pet dogs and rules for street dogs are different
2. Dogs and wrong environments: Dog is a hunting animal and the small boxes of apartments really don't provide them the space to be their normal self. I have even
seen a Great Dane in my apartment. What's the logic of keeping a dog in a flat which is not even two leaps length?
On the other hand, I have seen Siberian Huskies in South India. What kind of logic is it to buy dogs which can't step outside of a controlled environment(here, AC)?

First, my MacBook got an OS update and because it was not able to handle the load, motherboard fried away. Now, OS update for Windows 11 and clearly, I am seeing performance issues. And this PC is what? Less than two years old and 8 GB RAM with some decent GPU configuration.
Though this may look like a personal issue, it isn't. It's actually a question to the government. OS Update is getting mandatory these days and with the kind of configurations an average Indian has, a considerable part of the computers are going to get obsolete.
And with the cost differential involved(40k for a laptop - how many can buy one every three years?), how exactly are we going to tide this. The questions for the government are two
1. What are we going to do to ensure such a configuration is within the reach of an average Indian?

This map is neither correct nor perfect. But, there is something very important in this map. There is a playground between Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, France and Ottoman Empire. This is the playground in which Europe fought all its wars for millenia.
This patch actually acted as a divide between West and East and because this patch - German States, Hungary and Transylvania were minor states, advances from east and west happened only here. Neither had strength to cross this land easily.
And the last wars which used this jostling ground was Napoleonic Wars. But then, Europe was facing one of the biggest riddles for which it had no answer - Prussia and German Unification. If Germany unified and became a potent power, what will be their playing grounds?

Janamejeya had a brother Harnadeva. After their father Parikshit was killed by Takshaka, both the brothers fought for throne and Janamejeya seized the throne. Now, this Harnadeva fled towards Chamba and having nothing to do, served a Sadhu.
The Sadhu, pleased at his devotion, said that he will become the king in Kashmir. Elated, he journeyed to Kashmir and took service under Gonanda. In time, he became the Prime Minister in Kashmir and greed over took him. One day, he killed Gonanda and seized the throne.
But, he was a decent person and a person of capability. Besides, he is of a great lineage. He ruled as a benevolent ruler for a considerable time before his son took over. There were twenty three kings in this line including two brothers who partitioned the kingdom between them.
