Family fluff. Childe picks up their toddler and smiles sweetly, "tell your father that I'm tired of his hoarding habits and that I want to spar, you got that?"
"Okay mama," the child nods his head. Once he's set on the floor, the hatchling patters to the consultant's study.
Zhongli shifts his attention the moment that his child trots into the room. The smaller dragon has the harbinger's supple cheeks and pointed nose, making him adorable in the archon eyes.
"My little treasure. To what do I owe your visit, hm?"
"Daddy," the child scampers to his leg and hugs it, his smaller tail sweeping from side to side as he nuzzles his cheek.
Zhongli let out a chuckle and picks him up into his arms, "Yes, my little warrior? Had you not come on a mission?"
Ah! His mission! The child pulls back and purses his lips, though it forms a pout instead.
"Ywes, mama said uhm," a smile stretches across the child's lips, "he said that he loves you very much!"
"What? That wasn't what I said!"
Childe steps in and points a ladle at the consultant. It's dinner time and he can't quite put down his cooking.
"Morax, did you teach our child that sparring means i love you?"
"Is it not, my love?" Zhongli hums and kisses his toddler's cheek. Their child is a good little warrior, unlike the harbinger who's hardly honest. The dragon smiles, though by the curve of his eyes, it seemed more of a smirk instead.
"Would you bear the child of a man who's incapable of entertaining you with a spar?" the consultant asks despite knowing the answer.
Zhongli lifts a hand to cover the child's ear. He stands before the mortal, ambers glinting with mirth as a low, guttural growl passes his lips.
"You need only ask if you wish to be put in place...on the ground and beneath my spear."
Childe sucks in a breath. For once, Zhongli is serious and piercing gaze of a dragon sends shivers down his spine. He knows better than anyone that the war god is unbeatable.
But defeating this man means to stand at the apex of all gods during the archon war β closer to his dream of conquering the world.
"Shall we?" Zhongli asks, as if inviting his love to a dance.
"If I win then I'll make you eat your words Morax," Childe takes the toddler from his arms and makes a mental note to ask the traveller for an urgent babysitting commission.
"And if I win then I'll grant our child's wish, as any father would," Zhongli smiles.
"I want a wittle brother!" the toddler cheers, his eyes twinkling with anticipation, "but I'll cheer for mama too because I love yew!"
Childe sighs. Maybe his child had been spending too much time with his father. It feels as if everything is going exactly as he'd planned.
"That's great, honey," Childe gave a light scratch beneath his chin. The child giggles. Though he has a slight lisp due to his prominent fangs, they love him all the same.
"It seems that I will have to order more toys then," Zhongli hums thoughtfully.
The statement made the harbinger's lips twitch from annoyance.
"You haven't won yet," he glares to the dragon before shifting his gaze away with a huff, "we should have dinner before we spar. You haven't had anything for the entire day."
"Of course, darling. I'll have anything that you serve," Zhongli replies smoothly.
And so, his food is the only one that's mildly poisoned because he deserves it. Yet still, Zhongli wins anyway. They have a second child that year. || end.

ajax didn't even bother to read his profile. just that face alone is a hard yes. he hovers his thumb over the screen and taps.
blue eyes watches in horror as the profile is flung to the left instead, "no! stupid app, bring him back!"
it was a common mistake and ajax let out a string of curses. he peers over his phone and glances at the clock. it's 11pm.

"hmn," childe shifts closer, "for the record, it was meant to be a joke but you answered really quickly."
