We are going to review the Covid-19 Funds the @CityofAustin has dispersed
There will be a distinction between COVID relief funds and grants
Let's see what companies the city supported while the shutdown of businesses led to 100+ closing permanently during COVID lock-downs
Joyce M. James whose career depends on keeping racism alive is contracted w/ the @austintexasgov to conduct a groundwater analysis of Austin's Systemic Racism @ $10,000 a day & not to exceed $2.9 million
She also took over $109,000 in covid relief funds for "Economy Consulting"
Joi Lynne Chevalier a member of #ATX Food Policy Board received $214,000 in Covid-19 Relief Funds for her catering company "The Cook Nook"
Joi Chevalier also is a stakeholder in "Chisos Star LLC" which also provides catering services where she received $486,000 in COVID relief funds just in 2020
Measure Austin, @wemeasureus a social justice NGO focused on Anti-Racism received $32,800.15 in Covid Relief Funds
@Move_UpTogether, CA-based NGO that @MayorAdler has handling the UBI program that families will receive $1,000/mo in a no-bid contract w/ zero oversight on who receives money or how it's spent
They also received $2,971,538.00 in covid funds & additional $12 million in grants
Go Vamos donated to @UrbanRootsATX in 2020, the same year Frances Deviney former CEO of @EveryTxn a left-wing org. pushing radical social justice policies became Executive Director
Rosa Valdez CEO of @BCLofTexas or also known as "Cen-Tex CDC" sits on the board of the Housing and Planning Department received:
$56,662.50 in COVID funds
$206,696 in PPP Loans
They've received between 2008-2021 $1,533,520.03 from @austintexasgov in grants for "counseling"
@caritasofaustin has received $859,349.28 in COVID Funds during 2020
Since 2008 Caritas has received over $51 million to help prevent/end homelessness. Yet the homeless problem continues to get worse each year.

She also received $113,336 in grants from #atxcouncil in 2022
@austintexasgov gave the Better Business Bureau of Austin, $202,500 in covid-19 relief funds in 2021/2022
This doesn't include the $41 million in grants the #ATXcouncil has given to the @bbb_us since 2020 for "Creative Sector Assistance"
What does that even mean?
Long Performing Center received $5.7 million in COVID Relief from @austintexasgov & $4.162 million from the state
Totaling $9.862 Million in 2 years for "Artists"
That's twice as much money they've received if you combine what they've been paid between 2008 to 2019
The Austin Public Education Foundation @austinedfund received $3.95 million in COVID Funds
Unfortunately, I couldn't look further into it as they haven't submitted a 990 Form since 2002 that is publicly available.
Brian Knapp who lives in Wisconsin was given $9,999 in COVID funds for his company "Build with Humantiy" for "Research Services"
United Way For Greater Austin @UnitedWayATX received $5.25 million for "Training and Instruction"
