Taproot Wizards is a new PFP project featuring 2,121 unique wizard-themed Ordinals, set to mint soon. But it's more than just a collection of NFTs - it's a nod to Bitcoin's history, specifically the Bitcoin Wizard that became an iconic symbol of the crypto community.

On the 10th anniversary of the original Bitcoin Wizard, it was revealed that mavensbot - the creator of the crude drawing that started it all - was involved in creating the art for Taproot Wizards.

To further honor the Bitcoin Wizard, a secondary collection was launched to onboard users to Bitcoin's Lightning Network and benefit mavensbot for his contribution.

Taproot Wizards is the brainchild of developer and crypto advocate Udi Wertheimer, who saw Ordinals as a chance to shake up the seemingly stagnant bitcoin community.

In a grandiose fashion, he orchestrated the largest block and transaction in Bitcoin's history, achieving the absolute maximum BTC block size of 4MB.

Wertheimer aims to use the hype and tradability of PFP projects to create a sort of trojan horse of Bitcoin awareness. By disrupting and building community, he hopes to inspire a new wave of interest in and innovation on Bitcoin.

However, not everyone is happy about the project, as it goes against the current Bitcoin ethos of perfection.

Wertheimer believes that for innovation to return to Bitcoin, maximalists will need to accept that the blockchain can be used for more than just transacting. He says, "whatever the Bitcoin protocol allows us to do, we're going to do."

While not everyone may appreciate Ordinals, users don't have to think they're good to benefit from them. In the spirit of innovation, he's willing to try new things and start the conversation.

It is a nostalgic and inspiring account of the early days of Bitcoin and the community that formed around it. It is a reminder of the power of imagination, community and belief in the potential of new technologies.

Let's hope that the spirit of discovery and innovation continues to flourish in the Bitcoin community and beyond.
