"By the second half of the year, analysts say, the market will face a shortage — a scenario that will loom over the industry leaders meeting this week in Houston for CERAWeek by S&P Global, a major annual energy conference."
“My view, short hand, is maybe people are underestimating demand and overestimating US production,” Saad Rahim, chief economist at trader Trafigura Group, said on the sidelines of the International Energy Week conference in London last week.
There's talk of UAE leaving OPEC+. They're one of the few countries with spare oil production capacity. Oil prices are falling on the news, down 2.5% currently.
I'm skeptical. These same @wsj authors have written about this before and it was formally denied. But it is worth watching.
Imagine taking about the owners of the company you manage like this:
It’s kind of like going to an ice cream store,” Benioff told Barron’s Andy Serwer. “They’re all different flavors. And they all have different kinds of characteristics. They have different levels of expertise.”
Benioff belittles some of his investors including @VivekGRamaswamy. Ironic considering Vivek's message that Benioff treat the company like a business and not a "platform for social change" barrons.com/articles/sales…
You see this sort of inappropriate behavior by managers and companies around the peaks of cycles. There could be a long way to go down for tech stocks $qqq, particularly for Benioff and $crm. No position in the stock, but I do use a great CRM that's not Salesforce!
Journey Energy Inc. Announces $15 Million "Bought Deal" Public Offering of Flow-Through Common Shares
Sounds bad, right? The stock is down, must be bad? Checks notes: "at a price ... of $6.62 per Flow-Through Share" - vs current $5.50. I'll take it. ✅ ca.finance.yahoo.com/news/journey-e…
More thoughts. I own the stock, no recommendation.
I think step-up in direct returns, accretion on key metrics, and the improvement in the asset level free cash flow break-even are the most important positives of this $bte acquisition of $rngr. I don't own either stock, no recommendation.
Transaction negatives:
1) Dilution of the most economic oil inventory in North America in the core of the Clearwater.
2) private equity overhang with short lockup
3) $$$ for $rocc shareholders but minimal dividend for $bte.to shareholders
I was bullish Canadian oil and gas stocks when they were very out of favor. Now I'm even more focused on company specifics. Small cap seems to be where it's at, not the specific Canadian geography / trading jurisdiction.
