It was on one of his scholarship nuggets that I dropped a comment that piqued Dr. Olumuyiwa's interest. Surprisingly, he came inbox to ask me how my preparations had been going. I told him that I had my transcripts ready and was already saving up for my passport.
He asked how much I have saved up, and I said 20k. He asked for the balance and I told him 25k. Just like a joke, he encouraged me and told me that I would hear from him the following Monday. I was in class writing on the board when the alert dropped.

First, I want to say we value your opinion on our English proficiency requirements.
We do not consider Nigeria an English-speaking country. We require English placement scores for every student type (first-time/transfer/non-degree) and regardless of student status (domestic/international).
We are aware that students in metropolitan areas have more access to English-speaking schools and tend to do better on English test, but because those areas don't account for the entire country, or the entire applicant pool our institution has decided

Dear Undergraduate students,

Congratulations on your resumption after a while of staying at home courtesy of the FG-ASUU feud. I am writing you this short piece and you may decide to frame it so that it serves as a constant reminder to you.
Back in UNAD, precisely in 200l, I had my first carryover which was STAT 202, a 4-unit course. I was angry with myself and then I thought about something. Why not redirect this anger to a better me? This propelled me to work harder and graduated with a 3.95.
That CGPA landed me two fully funded Master's positions in South Korea and China back in 2013. It's never a crime to have fun but associating with colleagues, friends and motivational speakers who tell you that grades do not matter is counterproductive. Please, flee from them.
