You probably haven't heard of Section 65 of the Electoral Act which allows INEC to reverse its declaration of a candidate within 7 days if due processes were not followed ab initio.
Dear #obidients, while @PeterObi is fighting legally to recover our mandate, we need to pressure~
INEC to invoke this provision before 4 am, Wednesday, March 8, 2023 when Mahmood Yakubu declared BAT the winner, after a shambolic election where results were fraudulently altered & not transmitted as specified in INEC's guidelines.
Why is this important? I'll tell you.
Legal battles take time, especially those of this nature. We do not want to give room for the holder of our stolen mandate to have enough time to marinate in power and possibly, perpetuate the unthinkable.
As an aside, the next NASS should ensure all election petition cases are closed within 60 days before the elected member assumes office. — MY TAKE.
ALL LP NASS MEMBERS, PLEASE TAKE NOTE.
While PDP is protesting on the streets, I urge all of us to trend Section 65 of Electoral Act and call on INEC to recall BAT based on the results on the IREV.
After all, the Act also states that where discrepancies arise, the electronic copy supercedes.
Again, court cases are tortuous and time consuming. I am confident that the Labour Party will reclaim our mandate, even if that is the only option we have, but we must also not be blindsided.
APC knows this, that's why as far back as January, their SAN was trying to upturn this.
Let me explain briefly why the issue of INEC servers is key.
After the Osun election, APC wrote INEC & obtained a BVAS report with which they filed their claim that overvoting occurred in Adeleke's strongholds.
PDP also got a server report from INEC; showed diff BVAS numbers.
This is where it gets interesting. Due to the conflicting information presented, the Court instructed the physical BVAS machines to be brought to court where the numbers were tallied & it was seen that over voting didn't occur to the degree originally claimed by APC.
The Court, in their wisdom, still made their decision based on the first BVAS report that APC presented.
Why were there discrepancies in all 3 reports?
INEC claimed that the BVAS machine had not finished synchronising with the INEC server at the points of extracting the info.
Watching GRV's father speak, it's easy to see where Gbadebo got his cool, calm and collected disposition from, but what you're not prepared for, is the streak of vawulence! 🤣😊🤣
Sanwo-olu is talking about creating borders into Lagos? Borders in Ojota to regulate people coming into Lagos from other parts of Nigeria! 🤬
This kind of talk about not having a border post in Ojota should not even be mentioned in public discourse if we're truly 1 country. This is dog-whistle. Why blame NIGERIANS from other parts for D thuggery in Lagos? Don't be shocked when thugs set up shanty borders around Lagos.
For those of you that are pontificating in the comments, I put it to you that it is rhetoric like Sanwo-olu's above, that embolden statements like the one Dayo Israel made at a public debate.
By extension, these things fuel ethnic hostilities & attacks.
Barr. Onyechi Ikpeazu (SAN), Peter Obi's attorney, after Court today.
"What INEC is trying to do is diversionary, but most importantly, they want to wipe out the BVAS accreditation data, which is the most reliable source of data, from the BVAS machine."
The Presidential Election is too important to be jeopardised.
There's something profoundly reassuring about @PeterObi.
WHAT A MAN!
WHAT A MAN!!
WHAT A MAN!!!
Many have expressed their lack of faith in the Nigerian judiciary, but Peter Obi I always remember something that Peter Obi says:
That he's one of the biggest ambassadors of the Nigerian judiciary, having won his two major political cases without paying any shi-shi in bribes.
Here's what I think 🤔
Nigerian judiciary may be highly transactional and circumscribed with justice-for-hire tendencies because parties involved often go about breaking laws with impunity, hoping to meet in court and shop for justice. That is why it often seems like the highest bidder often wins.
Yorubas, one of the most travelled tribes in Nigeria, seamlessly integrate into their host communities: intermarry, have kids, run for & even win political offices in UK, US, Canada etc. Yet, paid urchins want Lagosians to jettison @GRVlagos for having an Igbo mother or wife? 🤡
The TL was awash with bigoted slurs from one end to the other yesterday. Can't we all be great together? Obibios, Yorubas, Binis, Igbos, Hausas etc? By all means, call out people's individual or personality issues, but stop making everything about tribes.
Decency >>>>>> Tribe.
Let no one deceive you. They don't consider tribalism before they rob you, send thugs to attack and kill you, steal monies meant for you and your children's education, health, security and human dignity.
To all the paid influencers propagating this nonsense: you're too cheap.
