For #UCLFantasy managers curious about Man City ahead of R16 Leg 2 (against Leipzig), here are my thoughts...
Up front, I'd be very surprised to see anything other than Grealish-Haaland-Mahrez
No explanation needed on Haaland
On the wings, Pep will want control in this match against a very potent, transition-based Leipzig side - playing in transition will be to City's detriment, imo
Grealish is next to undroppable atm anyways, though he's still not a great fantasy asset due to the role he's playing and his lack of end product
Mahrez is our UCL king, he fits the tactical bill, and Foden's ankle issue just flared up again
Midfield is very tough for me to call, in part because I'm not sure of the system Pep will want to deploy
Last time against Leipzig, it was a 4 atb on paper, but at times Walker bombed forward up the RW and Bernardo dropped into the backline for build-up
At a minimum, 2 of Bernardo/Gundo/KDB will start - that's almost a given
And there's certainly the potential that all 3 of them start, if Pep opts for the 3 CBs + Bernardo system
That said, I don't love any of those 3 as fantasy picks for this round
If you own any of them, I'd consider swapping to Mahrez or to a player on a different team
(There are so many good MID options this round)
At the back, Ruben is pretty damn nailed to start
Calling the rest of the defense is extremely tough though, so my advice would be:
Don't sell, don't buy, keep them on your bench and sub on if they start once we see the lineup
📝 Conclusion 📝
- Haaland and Mahrez are my 2 favorite picks
- Consider swapping out any City MIDs not names Mahrez
- Dias the only DEF to consider buying
- For all other DEFs, don't buy, don't sell, and sub them in if they start when we get the lineup

It's rare that KDB is this low on my Starting Odds, so why is that the case?
Should people look to sell KDB to Salah one GW early?
My thoughts below ⬇️
KDB started twice in the past week, playing 90' vs Villa and 87' vs Arsenal
City now play on Saturday, away to Forest, and Wednesday, away to Leipzig in the UCL
With both these fixtures being away, not to mention City travelling once again to meet Bournemouth next Saturday, it seems logical to me that KDB gets a rest soon
Of course, he could play 60-70 minutes in each game and be fine - but that's pretty unlikely, imo
(Starting Odds and Commentary included in the thread below)
🎲 Starting Odds 🎲
⚠️ The Starting Odds are just my opinion; I like using percentages to represent my judgement as it gives more description than a straight-up prediction
From where my team stands (no BHA/BRE/LIV), it's very difficult to maneuver B/DGW25 and DGW27 with FTs - if I want to gain any advantage
I could tread water, but it's a risky position given the explosivenesses of the assets I'd be forced to miss out on
At best, if I get through both with FTs, taking a -4 or -8 to pick out the right assets, my status for BGW28 would lie on whether or not the LIV-FUL match is a blank (close to 50/50)
If that game goes ahead, I could get to DGW29 okay - and most likely use my WC then
For your last-minute planning needs, here's all my FPL content from the past week in one place

I want to first implore everyone to consider donating to Turkish and Syrian relief funds, after an earthquake earlier this week killed 20,000+, destroying the cities and homes of many others
My thoughts are with anyone who has been affected 🙏🏼
