#ACC23 #WCCardio LBCT one-liners:

9. BIOVASC: Immediate complete revascularisation is noninferior vs. delayed complete revasc; it is associated with a reduction in MI and unplanned revascularization.

10. RENOVATE-COMPLEX-PCI: Intravascular imaging-guided PCI improves outcomes by reducing target vessel failure.
11. BETTER CARE-HF: Clinicians who received customized EHR alerts for specific patients were 2.5 times as likely to prescribe MRAs compared with clinicians who did not receive such alerts.
12. NUDGE-FLU: Making a connection between the flu and risk of subsequent heart problems via an electronic letter significantly increased flu vaccination rates among older Danish adults.
13. PCDS Statin: Patients w/ ASCVD were significantly more likely to be prescribed guideline-recommended high-intensity statin therapy if their clinician was sent an automated reminder with information about their CVD hx, prior statin use and hx of statin associated side effects
14. ACCESS: Providing medications for c/c diseases – for eg, HLD, HTN, DM medications – free of charge for 3 years did not have a significant impact on serious health outcomes associated with those conditions among low-income seniors in Canada
15. RAPID-HF:  In patients with HFpEF and chronotropic incompetence, implantation of a pacemaker to enhance exercise heart rate did not result in an improvement in exercise capacity and was associated with increased adverse events
16. Association of a Ketogenic Diet With Plasma Lipid Levels and Cardiovascular Risk in a Population-based Cohort: A low-carbohydrate high-fat diet was associated with increased levels of LDL-C and apolipoprotein B (apoB) along with a 2x heightened risk of CV events
17. STREAM-2: Pharmaco-invasive therapy with half-dose TNK is safe and effective compared with primary PCI among elderly patients presenting with STEMI who were unable to undergo timely primary PCI within 1 hour.
18. HOST-IDEA: Among the general population excluding patients with STEMI, 3mo DAPT was non-inferior to 12mo DAPT for net adverse clinical events at 12 months after PCI using 3rd gen DES with ultrathin struts and advanced polymer technology
19. An Analysis Of The STS/ACC TVT Registry: Transcatheter edge-to-edge repair (TEER) in patients with degenerative mitral regurgitation (MR) was found to be safe with a close to 90% success rate.
20. FLAME: large-bore mechanical thrombectomy w/ the FlowTriever was associated with a significantly lower occurrence of meaningful in-hospital adverse clinical outcomes and a low rate of mortality.
21. Cardiovascular Disease and Mortality in Black Women Carrying the Amyloidogenic Val122ile Variant: Non-Hispanic Black female TTR V122I carriers have a higher risk of CVD and all-cause mortality compared to non-carriers.
22. Data From the Global Cardiovascular Carbon Footprint (GCCF) Project: Remote monitoring of patients with cardiac implantable electronic devices resulted in significant reductions in GHG emissions.
23. PULSED AF: Pulsed field ablation was found to be successful at treating AFib for 12 months in up to two-thirds of patients.
24. BMAD: Patients with HF were 38% less likely to be readmitted to the hospital for HF complications within 90d when wearing the novel μCor device, a sensor that uses RF signals to assess the wearer’s thoracic fluid index and alert their clinician if needed.
25. A DUE Phase III: Fixed-dose combination therapy with Macitentan 10 mg daily + Tadalafil 40 mg daily is superior to either agent as monotherapy in reducing pulmonary vascular resistance at 6 weeks among patients with PAH.
26. COORDINATE - Diabetes: A coordinated, multifaceted intervention approach to improve prescribing practices increased the likelihood that patients with T2DM and ASCVD would be prescribed 3 classes of guideline-recommended medications by > 4 fold.
27. LIVE-HCM: Patients with HCM who exercised vigorously did not have an increased incidence of serious cardiac events during 3 years of follow-up compared with patients who exercised moderately or were inactive.
28. FREEDOM COVID Anticoag: In non-critically ill patients hospitalized with COVID, 30d outcomes with therapeutic Enoxaparin or Apixaban were similar to prophylactic Enoxaparin alone.
29. STELLAR Phase III: Patients with PAH who were treated with Sotatercept plus existing therapy experienced significant improvements in exercise capacity.
30. Efficacy and Safety of the Oral PCSK9 Inhibitor, MK-0616, in the Treatment of Hypercholesterolemia- Phase 2b: Oral MK-0616 was associated with a significant reduction in LDL-C in patients with hypercholesterolemia and was well tolerated
31. LODESTAR: Among patients with coronary artery disease, a treat-to-target LDL-C strategy of 50 - 70 mg/dL as the goal was non-inferior to a high-intensity statin therapy for the 3 year composite of death, MI, stroke, or coronary revascularization.
32. CAMEO-DAPA: In patients with HFpEF, treatment with Dapagliflozin for 24 wks favorably reduced PCWP at rest and during exercise.

33. IMPLEMENT-HF: A virtual team-guided strategy for GDMT optimization was found to be safe and improve rx among patients hospitalized with HFrEF.
34. Residual Inflammatory Risk in Statin treated pts: A Collaborative Analyses of PROMINENT, REDUCE-IT, STRENGTH Trials: Inflammation assessed by hsCRP was a stronger predictor for risk of future CV events/death than cholesterol assessed by LDL-C among those receiving statins.
35. AIMI-HF: In patients with impaired LV function due to ischemic heart disease, there were no differences in the primary composite endpoint of cardiac death, MI, resuscitated cardiac arrest, or cardiac hospitalization between the advanced imaging and the SPECT groups.
36. TARGET: In patients with stable CAD and intermediate stenosis on CCTA, an on-site CT FFR strategy using machine learning is feasible, safe and effective.
37. Yellow III: In patients w/ stable CAD on max tolerated statins, more intensive lipid lowering w/ addition of Evolocumabx 26 wks led to significant increase in the min FCT by OCT, reduction in NIRS max LCBI4 mm, atheroma vol by IVUS in angiographically nonobstructive lesions.
