i havent watched this netflix documentary where an episode is apparently dedicated to this theory, but the Reddit thread on the series is hilariously mean reddit.com/r/MH370/commen…
I regret to inform you that I have no watched the Netflix documentary and it is just as stupid as those redditors indicate.
To sum up the bizarre conspiracy theories presented in this Netflix documentary: there is no evidence for them, there is no motive for them, and to believe them requires dismissing a bunch of other evidence.
Clearly the Atlantic was right and the pilot did it.
Each of the conspiracy theorists basically says “it’s funny but when the plane disappeared I just instantly knew [insane conspiracy theory] and though subsequent evidence would seem to disprove my theory, I think I’m still right.”
Okey-dokey, friend.
The Kazakhstan #MH370 theory involves the plane landing at this one massive spaceport, which presumably the US has spy satellites pointed at all the time. And to explain why the US wouldn't have seen it land there, the dude says bc it was night.
But...airports have lights?
According to detective google, US spy satellites have been able to see at night for decades nbcnews.com/id/wbna3077885

Does anyone actually think that the psychic energy people spend on outraged, intense, morally-felt political social media arguments has improved political outcomes?
To put it another way, do you think you’re getting a good political return on your posting?
As far as I can tell social media has activated a zillion people politically on both sides and the net change is virtually 0 and the sweat and stress and acrimony that comes with such a dynamic has not actually helped anyone accomplish anything politically.
There are a million stats about how this stuff is bad for your mental health but even so it might be worth it if you think your sacrifice has given your agenda the upper hand, but I just see no evidence that anyone is getting anything for their money.
Sarah Huckabee Sanders and people like her are, thankfully, a small minority of people in this country (though perhaps not in Arkansas) and this type of shit makes even me feel just filthy. Like, this is genuine anti-trans hateful shit. You go to hell for this shit.
Like this is genuinely just an unnecessarily cruel thing to say about people. Whenever i get sort of annoyed with various things about the the left with regard to the trans discourse, i then see things like this and am like...i'd be fucking defensive too!
i get that this plays in certain parts of the country and in republican primaries and stuff but I was dinging the left a few days ago about how their extreme positions can put off normies like me, and this shit? from the right? this shit a million times worse.
We spent a few years inundated with stories about how the west is in decline and liberal democracy can't win hearts & minds because authoritarian regimes are the hot new jazz, but it seems to me like those takes were pretty wrong and that the west is actually pretty good still
it's just amazing how people let Trump winning one election (by negative 1.5 million votes) and some far right people almost winning (but ultimately losing) a few elections in France and Germany convince them that the arc of history was bending in a different direction.
DeSantis loves to engage in idiotic culture war fights but this makes him sound like a pathetic small town yokel. Who cares if some dumb Serbian who plays the 7th most popular sport in america comes to our tournament? We're the USA. We went to the moon. cnn.com/2023/03/08/ten…
"oh no the unvaccinated serbian tennis champion can't come to one tournament! i better move heaven and. earth for him"
Bro, maybe loser countries like australia need to give a shit about this but we're the home of rock & roll and James Dean.
the only way this is a "principled stand for freedom" or whatever is if you believe that foreigners have a natural right to come into the united states as they please without restriction. I don't think that's Ron DeSantis's general immigration opinion.
