Seeing a lot of reports of π·πΊ cruise missile launches from bombers and ships in the Black Sea. Reports of some shoot downs, but explosions heard in Odessa and Mykolaiv. Appears to be an AD saturation attack. Developing.
Between Russian missile-carrying warships lingering off the coast for a few days now and bombers being tracked via '"bear net" frequency intercepts, these were rather highly expected cruise missile attacks.
Wondering if the US tipped off πΊπ¦ Ukraine as to when the Black Sea Fleet warships launched, as this Global Hawk had a prime viewing position.

USAF Sentry AWACS now airborne out of π΅π± Powidz. It is currently 2:30AM in Poland.
USAF KC-135 tanker making orbits over SE π΅π± Poland at Angels 25, however it is not interacting with the AWACS. Likely refueling fighter coverage.
2nd tanker is a bit of an interesting introduction. Out of Spangdahlem, 60-0318 #AE0376 of the 314 ARS was last seen on Feb 20, the day of the exercises by π·πΊ Strategic Rocket Forces.

@ameliairheart used a high contrast alteration on a screenshot of one of the Su-35Ss, which reveals bort number 71 RED.
Part Three.
Screenshot of @scramble_nl shows there was no known airframe registration here, but one airframe had been a 71 RED with 159th Fighter Aviation Regiment (159 IAP) spotted in 2018.
I started doing flight tracking - like many who have followed since - as a hobby.
I thought it was amazing the 1st time I was able to see the flights my family was on in real-time, or the 1st time I was able to see a military jet in real life from data I got from an app.

It's now more than a hobby, but a passion.
It became clear that patterns would emerge from planes that interested me: I make regular posts, for instance, about E-6B TACAMO callsigns that are uniquely generated. Patterns become tomorrow's headlines. Iraq, Afghanistan, Ukraine.

The tech is nothing new: what is new it's only been recently that an army of enthusiasts and professionals have collectively made a living network of plane tracking in such an accessible way.
The only thing newer is the paranoia regarding it.
