1.0 RW & co. and their supporters are busy trying to claim all the credit for IMF deal. But let's review what their take on #CBSL governor dr. Nandalal has been over the past year.

RW almost didn't approve the service extension of Dr. Nandala back in June 2022.

2.0 He was compelled to do so amid pressure from several parties including executives within the CBSL, opposition, and then president Gotabaya. Dinesh Weerakkody was then PM RW's nomination for the CBSL governor post initially.

3.0 Dr. Coomaraswamy was also considered as a potential replacement for Dr. Nandalal.

There were many news report reporting a rift between then PM RW and CBSL though CBSL ultimately denied that.

4.0 In Sept. 2022 at the parliament, MP Vajira Abeywardena severely criticized Dr. Nandala for declaring the country bankrupt.

5.0 Then in Nov. 2022, Vajira Abeywardena at the parliament accused Dr. Nandalal of conspiracy for raising CBSL policy rates. That's how CBSL's actions to curb inflation were interpreted back then. He actually invited people to rally against CBSL.

6.0 Again in Nov. 2022, RW's advisor Ashu Marasinghe on live tv accused Dr. Nandalal of attempting to become the next common pres. candidate. However, he later apologized for his this. Maybe testing the waters?

10.0 However, credit to Dr. Nandalal and CBSL for keeping their heads calm amid all these chaos. You can see now how helpful RW & co have been to CBSL and the governor all this long.
