Consider for a minute, that while Wes is incredibly intelligent, his REAL gift was finding patterns no one else saw. Noticing things everyone else wouldn’t think twice about.
Things like Shaw’s blood trail.
Things like the timing of the pulses.
This is clearly a Crusher trait. It’s what makes them very good, instinctive healers, too. Bev notices right away what’s wrong with Shaw even though Dr. Ohk is a FUCKING TRILL and might have way more life experience. She did the scan, didn’t make the connection that…
…certain injuries might not show up on that scan and manifest in other ways. Bev caught that.
Oh my god the Crushers all rhyme, too. I can’t.

“How did Starfleet let Shaw be in command of a ship when he clearly needed therapy??”
Good question! One I feel I am uniquely qualified to answer because I *immediately* recognized Shaw’s maladaptive coping mechanism when his trauma was revealed.
Shaw developed an incredibly dismissively avoidant attachment style wrt his relationships with people as a result of his trauma. He is a man who clearly feels very deeply and passionately. Easiest way to deal with those feelings after that kind of trauma?
Shut down. Detach from everyTHING and everyONE.
Here’s the thing about that kind of detachment… You very, very easily can give people the impression you’re just fine. Perfectly functional.
I stg this is the most micromanaged I’ve ever been in a job.
“Why haven’t you turned this in??”
“Why weren’t you there last week?”
“You need to log this!”
Jfc I am SICK and was OUT OF THE COUNTRY and I told you about BOTH things. I am prioritizing doing my ACTUAL JOB.
For every session I do, I have to:
- Submit my lesson plan
- Fill out a form after it’s done
- Log the session in Teams
- Clock in/out
I have to do the same (besides submitting my lesson plan) for just BEING PRESENT IN THE CLASSROOM during regular classes.
I have mandatory trainings every other Friday, except for last week when we had two trainings in a row. Got beef for not being at the second one, even though I said I’d be back the 5th. But because I didn’t tell them THAT WEEK I didn’t give them notice.
Because I knew nothing about Paxlovid from the practical side of things before I started taking it, I’m making a thread: 🧵
It comes in these packets. There’s a yellow side for morning, and a blue side for evening. Twice a day, you pop the pills out of one side of the packet.
These are the three pills out of the package, they’re a little less than an inch long. You have to take all three of these simultaneously - all three have to hit your system at the exact same time.
You do this for 5 days. I’ve already completed one packet.
