#KochiSmoke: The "Real" Truth

Godi media, including BBC are talking about Kochi smoke as if it is an accidental fire and the local "Communist" administration has failed to control the fire emanating from the Brahmapuram waste management plant.

Hence it's important to tell the truth, "hole" truth & nothing butt truth.
It's not accidental fire but deliberately planned fire for the safety of citizens of Kochi. March being the beginning of a long hot summer, government wants to ensure the people get acclimatized to heat.

Hence the artificially created fire to increase temperatures to the Mid-April levels, so that people are ready for the summer heat one month in advance and can March towards April confidently.

Second advantage and the main purpose of the smoke is to drive away the mosquitoes. Kochi being a backwater city, the mosquitoe menace is unbearable during summers, leading to Dengue and other mosquitoe borne fevers.

By smoking out (പുകച്ച് ചാടിച്ചു) the mosquitoes, the local Government is saving people from all those horrible illnesses.

The additional advantage: Kochi being Kochi, people of this city never get to witness fog or മഞ്ഞ്.

The kind local government is saving a lot of money for its citizens who otherwise will have to travel to Munnar, Ooty or Kodaikanal to witness fog. Look at the attached image. Who needs Ooty ?

Thus, all the negative portrayal of Kochi smoke must be dismissed.

The well-intentioned "arrangements" made by Communist government must be appreciated.

Coming to dousing of the fire, that isn't an issue at all for Kerala Government. Former Electricity Minister K M Mani can douse the fire in 5 minutes.

He just needs to open 3 or 4 dams. That's all. He's proved his capabilities to take water to every nook and corner and even balconies of Kerala in 2018.
