Big mistake I see marketing leaders make? Only focusing on customers.
Here's why:
Remember this: you have 2 customers OUTSIDE the org and INSIDE the org.
Internal marketing is just as important as external marketing
By not paying attention to your internal relationships, you're setting yourself up for failure.
Apply the same principles you use with customers:
🧠 Build awareness of your team's work
👂 Talk to your colleagues to understand their needs
💡 Educate your colleagues about your marketing goals
✅ Deliver initiatives that take their priorities into consideration
Your biggest competitor is *not* the product that has a similar feature set as yours.
Your biggest competitor is what your customer is doing right now to do the “job” that they would use your product for.
🧠 Ask your customer these questions to uncover your true competitors:
You need to how your customer categorizes your solution and then single out what makes you different and better than the current alternatives they use.
→ How have you tried to solve [Problem] in the past?
→ Before [Product], what were you using instead [to get the job done]?
→ Tell me about [Old Solution] – what worked well/liked most? And what didn’t?
→ What was the biggest problem with [Old Solution]? Why is that a problem?
Think of your landing page as your salesman who tirelessly works 24/7 to convert visitors into customers.
Its main job is to grab attention and influence action.
You have < 8 seconds to get your reader to stay.
How do you get it right?
Through your value proposition.
It’s your secret weapon in the battle for your visitor’s attention, it will determine if your visitor keeps reading about your product or leaves your page.
It has 4 key ingredients:
🎯 Target: Who is this for
💥 Impact: What’s the value of your product
❤️ Relevance: How it solves a problem people care about
🚀 Differentiation: Why it’s different from the rest, why should people buy it
