Now every single presenter the BBC puts forward is going to have their entire history turned over to see what flavour of presenter IS acceptable to the BBC Board.
Yes. And exactly what changed between yesterday & today.
I shall post each stage as I go. But right now the raw skinless chicken thighs on the bone have been rubbed in SOME of the roasted curry powder, ginger and garlic paste, salt and turmeric.
What is undoubtedly true is that under Sharp and Davie’s stewardship they have dragged the BBC’s reputation through the mire ..so the BBC is the focus of the news…not informing the public impartially of U.K. and world affairs.
And this was utterly foreseeable. AND WAS FORETOLD
2/ So why did not Tory Lord Grade Chair @Ofcom intervene early on to curtail this utterly lamentable state of affairs?
Mmm.
Tory donor and Johnson loan arranger Richard Sharp - BBC Chair
Ex Tory Candidate and Deputy Chair of his local Tory Constituency Party Tim Davie- BBC DG
3/ Ex Tory Director of Communication and BBC Politics editor Robbie Gibb - BBC Board Member
There are more
But see the theme?
And this is why the BBC News has drifted …now racing…away from its central Charter obligations, becoming a State broadcaster not a public broadcaster
Gary Lineker spoke his mind. Now we should too: fate could have put any one of us in those migrant boats | Jonathan Freedland
Numbers from the Migration Observatory show that the UK is, in fact, a laggard when it comes to taking in those in need. theguardian.com/commentisfree/…
The UK granted asylum to 13,000 people in 2021, a fraction of the 60,000 taken in by Germany and much less than half of those admitted by France. Spain, Italy and Greece all took in more than we did. In other words, this is not some unique challenge faced by Britain. Far from it.
Asylum claims went up across the entire EU last year, and globally we are scarcely doing the bare minimum. The biggest refugee populations are in Turkey and Colombia; Germany is home to 2.2 million refugees. In Britain, there are 232,000
Don’t forget that Theil (Palantir) was also up to his neck in Facebook data, helped show Cambridge Analytica how to mine the data, and is buddies with Melon Head.
With all their massive databases it would be a doddle for them to rehydrate pseudonymised dat to identify you.
Former Shell boss Ben van Beurden's pay package jumps to £9.7m as Shell’s 2022 profits rose to $39.9 bn on the back of the Ukraine War energy squeeze - BBC News
I note it says “package”, so how much of that was in tax reducing elements? bbc.co.uk/news/business-…
Sunak brought in a 25% Energy Profits Levy.
This was increased to 35% from Jan2023 (when prices, therefore profits) are falling hugely) by Hunt, and will run until 2028.
BUT
The levy applies to profits made from extracting UK oil & gas, not refining, or selling petrol/ diesel
.
Less than 5% of Shell's profits come from UK production.
AND The scheme allowed oil firms an 80% investment allowance which overall allowed then to claim back 91p in every £ invested, including in oil and gas.
This investment allowance was reduced from 80% to 29% from 1 January
